Hundreds of women who had the privilege of being coached as girls by "Mrs. Slater" in fastball are mourning the loss of this amazing lady. What an incredible, giving volunteer and human being. My hometown of Dorchester, Ontario was so fortunate to benefit from her dedication and commitment. My condolences to her family. (Kemptville, Ontario)

Dear Mr. Slater, Karry, Dan, Jeff and Families, I am so sorry to hear about Mrs. Slater. She was a very positive and influential lady in the world of fastball for all of us girls growing up in Dorchester. I've often shared stories of how she used to try and keep us from bailing out of the batter's box. She was truly a remarkabe woman who touched many lives.
