Doreen Francis

Passed away peacefully with her children by her side, on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, Doreen Francis, of Sarnia, at the age of 86. Born in Sarnia on December 2, 1933, Doreen was predeceased by her husband George Francis (2001) and her brother William Boyd (2018). Dearly loved mother of Susan Price, Wendy Francis and Brian (Sergio) Francis. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Katelyn (Kevin), Jaclyn, Ryan, Ella and great-granddaughter Madeline. Doreen lived a full life. She was a cub leader at Paterson Memorial Presbyterian Church for many years, a long-time member of St. Luke’s United Church and the United Church Women (UCW), and volunteered at the Strangway Centre in Sarnia, for the Canadian Red Cross, and for the VON following her move to London, Ontario in 2009. Doreen’s family would like to express their appreciation to the Palliative Care staff at Victoria Hospital and at Parkwood Institute for their care of Doreen, as well as the staff and residents at Longworth Retirement Residence, a place where she made many friends and enjoyed the various social activities. A memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. A private interment will be held at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Doreen are asked to consider Parkwood Institute – Palliative Care Program or the Canadian Cancer Society.

My deepest sympathy goes out to all the family. I was unable to attend being I was in the hospital myself, and have just learnt of her passing. My prayers for the family. I will miss her friendship.
