Donald (Don) William Arnold

January 5, 1939 - November 7, 2022

Born January 5th, 1939, Donald (Don) William Arnold, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7th, 2022, in his 84th year.

Don leaves behind his best friend and the dream of his life, his cherished wife Connie Arnold (née Wright) of 61 years. Loving father to Holly Gerrits (Frank), Steve Arnold (Maria) and Sarah Gauthier (Jacob); Grandpa to the pride and joys of his life, Jordan (Jess), Geoff (Marie), Victoria, Ethan, Capri and Cruz; and great-grandchildren: Sydney and Baby G (December 2022). Cherished brother to Joy Gibson (Bob) of Belleville and Donna Shipley of London.

Don enjoyed life to the fullest and was always the life of the party, singing and dancing wherever he went. Storytelling was his favourite pastime and the bigger the audience, the bigger the story became. Now he has a whole new audience, and his stories will evolve forever.

He was a caring person who was always there for family and friends, always willing to lend a hand. He would go out of his way to give a helping hand to anyone in need, even to strangers who were down on their luck and just needed a break, he was always there.

Don was an active member of the Optimist Club of Port Stanley for many years.

You will always be in our memories and in our hearts. We love you and may you rest in peace.

There will be a private family service where he will be laid to rest. Don would want people to celebrate life as he always did, so in honoring him, a Celebration of Life will be held in the new year. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Don are asked to consider the Ronald McDonald House or Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre.

To Connie, Holly, Sarah and the rest of the family: I was so sorry to hear of Don’s passing. He was such a strong family man and passed on that commitment to his children. Knowing how you feel, there are no words that can describe the loss of a partner, parent and grandparent. Please know that there are many that are thinking of you.
