Donald Christopher Holland
July 3, 2015
1958 – 2015
After a courageous battle with cancer, Chris passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Friday, July 3, 2015. Loving husband of Brenda and dedicated father of Kayla and Daniel. Eldest son of the late Joan and Don Holland, and best big brother to George (Lina) and John (Jenny). Favourite son-in-law of Beatrice Mancari (the late Larry). Dear brother-in-law of Vince (Debbie) and David, and cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews. Chris was always ‘the life of the party’ and his great sense of humour will live on in our hearts! Every crack of a bat, swish of a basketball net and hearty “Oskee-wee-wee” will inspire fond memories of Chris. He will truly be missed by many family and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Chris are asked to consider St. Joseph’s Hospice, London. Special thanks to the many wonderful hospice staff who supported Chris and his family through his last few days.

To the family - I got to know Chris while working at Go Packaging. Though I never met you, Brenda, Kayla or Daniel, I did feel I did, as Chris always spoke with pride and love for you all. Chris will leave a lasting legacy in the hearts he touched. Chris had a great ability to seperate work from play and no matter how intense a meeting could be... once it was over you could always count on Chris to grab a cold one and make everyone laugh! The world was a better place because of Chris! My thougths and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Chris and I started working at GO just days apart, 20 years ago. When I think of Chris Holland, I immediately think laughter - the bent over, crying kind of laughter. But beyond that, Chris was a thoughtful, warm, caring and gentle man who had the utmost respect for family and friends held dear to his heart. He never forgot a kind deed done, or word spoken to/for him. Brenda, Kayla and Dan - my heart simply breaks for you and your extended family. Chris - you were one of a kind, gone too soon and will leave a void for all who knew you. I will miss you my dear friend.....
Chris is one of the kindest men I have ever known. I am grateful to have known him. My heart breaks knowing how he suffered and how difficult a time this is for your family. May peace find you and faith guide you.
Brenda, Kayla and Daniel, you were privileged to have this wonderful man as a Husband and Father, and my heart breaks for you and the unimaginable loss you are suffering. He made people around him better ... at anything. He will be deeply missed. Respectfully Dan Carey

Brenda, Kayla, and Daniel, I was saddened to hear about the passing of Chris. I met Chris 16 years ago as a supplier to GO Packaging, then as co-workers. I am proud to count him as a friend and be counted as one to him. I have never met a more honest, respectful, and sincere person. If friends and family are the measure of a man, Chris Holland was a Giant! Thank you Chris for sharing yourself, I know I am a better person today having known you.
To say Chris was special to me would be an understatement. He meant the world to me. He was my cousin, but all my life I've thought of him as a big brother. He was always so kind, positive and supportive. There for us whenever we needed him. And always available for a good dose of silly too! Oh the giggles we shared over the years :) Hanna and Chase will always affectionately refer to him as "Uncle Cousin Chris". Chase wanted me to add that he was a real "wise guy" (Those in the know will find this pretty funny and so would Chris!!) I feel truly blessed to have had him in my life. And lucky to have been able to spend some special time with him recently on my visit. Everyone who spent any amount of time with Chris walked away better for it. He was an inspiration in so many ways! I will truly miss him but will cherish every single memory. Wish I could be there with you Brenda, Dan and Kayla . . . I love you all! xoxoxo
