Diane Marie Jones

Passed peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the age of 97. Loving wife of the late William J. Jones (2001) for 50 years. Dear mother of Brian Jones (Julie) of London and Susan Keating (Steve) of St. Thomas.  Adored grandmother of Trevor Jones (Shahrzad Khademi), Christopher Jones (Nicole Pickering) and William Keating and great-grandmother of Afshar Jones.

Diane grew up in Shediac, NB and moved to Toronto in her early 20’s. There she met her future husband, Bill Jones, who emigrated from England after the war. Children followed and then a move to the United States for Bill’s work. They raised their family, first outside NYC and then Philadelphia. Once both children were grown they then moved back to Toronto. Diane worked at Wannamaker’s Department Store in Philadelphia, running the music and book departments. After moving back to Toronto, she then found employment at Holt Renfrew in the handbag department. Retirement meant one more move to London, Ontario to be closer to family and her grandchildren. Once settled in London, she also found time to volunteer in the library at Parkwood Hospital for over 20 years.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at McGarrell Place (especially the Windermere team) and the PSW Team at Horizon Place (Gina, Lillibeth, Shirley and Mary) for the care and compassion these last few years.

A private Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.
