Devon Daniel Cauchi
December 29, 2017
“Well done, good and faithful servant, and welcome home!”
Devon Daniel Cauchi was warmly welcomed into his heavenly home on Friday, December 29, 2017, by his beloved Lord and his loving dad Dan, after a life well-lived here on Earth for 22 years. He lived each and every day with determination, perseverance and gentleness, and took great joy in the little things of life, such as playing with his toys, enjoying a great meal, strolling in the sunshine, or painting a picture. Devon will always be remembered fondly for his “mischievousness”, in which he took great delight, to keep his family and friends on their toes!! Devon touched so many lives during his time here, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Dearly loved and cherished by his mom Carolyn, and grandma Mary Cauchi: Devon will always be our little angel. Fond and loved nephew of Ron Bronson, Neil Bronson and Sharon Smith, Gary and Nancy Cauchi and Geoff and Jennifer Cauchi, and loving cousin to Jacqueline Cauchi. He leaves behind, as well, other special “aunties and uncles”, friends and all his family at Participation House. Also predeceased by his other beloved grandparents, Frank Cauchi and Mildred and Claude Bronson. Devon’s family wants to thank all the caring staff at LHSC Victoria Campus, and specifically D5 -200 staff for their care and concern over these past many weeks. To our dedicated Participation House family from Eden, McLean, Jeffreybrook, Possibilities in Paint, and beyond: thank you for ALWAYS being there in the hospital, and outside of the hospital to provide Devon with tender loving care each and every day, and for giving him a wonderful life and amazing experiences these past 4 years. You truly made his life special! Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the visitations on Friday, January 5, 2018 at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Devon’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at NORTH PARK COMMUNITY CHURCH, 1510 Fanshawe Park Road East, London, at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Devon are asked to consider Participation House Foundation.
“Farewell our precious Devon…
’til we meet again.
You will always be in our hearts.”

Dear Carolyn and family; We are so saddened to read of the passing of your son Devon. While we never knew him, it is clear he was a courageous and caring young man who touched many people with his love of life. Having lost our son Casey to schizophrenia and drug overdose during Nov. of 16, we feel your pain and heartache. Please know we are thinking of you and send you our prayers. Hopefully, with the passage of time, you will move pass the pain of loss and can feel blessed to have had the time and memories with Devon and feel some comfort from those cherished memories. We send you our strength. Greg and Leslie Janes
Carolyn, we send our deepest condolences for the passing of Devon. Although we never really knew him, we know how lucky he was to have such a loving and compassionate mother. Your humanity is of the brightest in this world. May you shine on, may he rest in peace.
To Carolyn and family: I was grieved to hear of Devon's passing. I was on staff at Victoria Hospital and helped with his care over the course of many months while he resided with us. Even though he was never able to communicate verbally, I found early on that we established a bond of friendship to the point that I looked forward to our daily living activities and interactions as one does with a long time friend. Devon was this friend to me. After he was well enough to move to Participation House and he left us to start his new life there, I missed him greatly and often find myself heading to his room to look in on him out of sheer habit for weeks after he was gone. Carolyn, I am very sorry to say that I learned of Devon's passing only after the service had already been held, and did not attend as a result. I still think of his mischievous smile and his "rocking out" to Youtube music during our morning start of day routine. I am grateful for the time that I knew him. He's someone that I will always think of with a smile.
