Peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Monday, May 28th, 2012 at the age of 64. Loving father of Sean Hodgson and his fiancée Cassandra Lemanski and Julie Hodgson (Jordan Dufton). Dear brother of Edwin Hodgson and his wife Nancy and John Hodgson. Loving grandfather of Cooper Hodgson. Remembered by his nephew Chris Hodgson and his wife Monica, his best friend Dev and many relatives in Scotland and England. Predeceased by his parents Richard and Jeannie Hodgson. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a future date. Dear Sean and Julie: I am so sorry to hear of Derek's death. He was a gentle and lovely man. We communicated infrequently over the years, but the last time I heard from him, his love for you shone through. Julie, Sean, family and Derek's friends, I feel so deeply the sorrow of the lose of Derek's life. I have such loving memories of the short time Derek and I shared our lifes together, there always has been and will always be a very special spot in my heart for Derek. I have many happy loving memories. Derek will rest now in peace, and your memories of him will live on with you, cherish them always. Although he is no longer with you on this earth, his great love he had for you Sean and Julie along with your memories of times shared will always be there with you.
