David Martin Van Trigt

July 6, 2015

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of David Martin Van Trigt of London, on Monday, July 6, 2015, at the age of 51. Much loved husband of Lisa and proud father of Emma and Sarah.  He will be missed by siblings Rita (Allan), Gertrude, Eugene, Cecilia (Bob) and Jamie (Anita), brother-in-law Dave and by many nieces and nephews. David, a chartered accountant, forged many strong partnerships throughout a successful career spanning PricewaterhouseCoopers, Air Ontario, Trudell Medical, and Columbia Sportswear. David was an active volunteer, serving on the boards of St. Joseph’s Health Care, the London Community Foundation and the Boys and Girls Club of London. An avid golfer and sports fan, David enjoyed his weekend rounds at Sunningdale, where the financial wins and losses were always trumped by the camaraderie and jokes that followed each game. These times helped him cope every time his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs lost a game. Many thanks to our network of caring friends, colleagues, neighbours, family members, PSWs and the hospice staff and volunteers who supported us throughout this journey. We appreciate and value the many kindnesses and friendship you provided. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice, London.
