David Ernest Carver
May 12, 2019
Passed away tragically, on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, at the age of 57. Dave was born in London, on October 29, 1961, to Kenneth and Hazel Carver. He was a small business owner, for 33 years, of Carver Sheet Metal Inc. In his high school years, he was a provincial wrestling champion, and later represented Canada in multiple world ultramarathon championships, as well as completing multiple marathons, triathlons, and iron man races. No one could be happier or more excited about a mini Snickers bar than Dave. When not working hard at his family business, he had a strong love of golf, drinking coffee with friends at Angelos, vacationing to his home in Tampa, Florida, playing cards, and above all, showed a great love for his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his spouse, Catherine Burke, her son James, and four of his five children: Samantha Groot (Thomas), Laura Carver (Justin), Jamie Cashen (Michael) and Michael Carver (Bethany). Also survived by his five grandchildren: David, Ryder, Bryce, Kaylee and Brooklynn; stepchildren Malcolm, Brittany (Geoffrey); newest grandson Colton; sister Beverly Carroll; brothers Joseph Carver (Nancy) and Kenneth Carver (Deborah); multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family whom he kept close. Preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Crystal Carver; mother Hazel Carver; father Kenneth Carver; stepmother Mary Carver; brother Fred Carver; and brother-in-law Barry Carroll. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, a reception will be held at Greenhills Golf Club. Cousin Dave was a wonderful man, I have fond memories of him and no matter how old I was, he still called me by the nickname that his dad gave me "squeaky". Always made me smile, he will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him! He's in great company in heaven with all the family members that have preceded him! I will miss you Dave! Sympathy and condolences to all his close family members.
I remember like it was yesterday when I first met Dave in the hallway of a hockey arena in the early 1990s when daughter Laura was trying out for the team I was coaching. We became great friends over the next few years and I had the pleasure of coaching, Laura, Sam and Brittany as we moved through the decade. Through the many games, practices and tournaments Dave was always there for his daughters and always a big supporter of the teams and the organization. There was one season we nicknamed our team Carver's Crunchers with Dave as the team sponsor and manager. It was a year I'll never forget and I'm sure his daughters and my daughter will forever hold dear in their memories. Many times we solved the problems of the world over coffee at his office. Many times we shared a laugh over a brown pop usually after the big game at a tournament in a far away city. As our daughters moved into high school and my life took a new direction we didn't see each very often but kept in touch through social media. We shared our surgical recoveries, mine bilateral knee replacement and him his tibial osteotomy in both legs. We were supposed to get together again for coffee but we never made it. I will always remember Dave. He inspired me. His humour was infectious and his dedication to family and friends was incredible. He will be missed and my thoughts today are with his family in this most difficult time. It was indeed an honour to know Dave and call him my friend.
RIP super Dave
I knew Dave thru high school, the wild cats, lets just say he was a great guy and knew how to have fun. From what I have read he was still the fun loving great guy. There are lots of wild cats that graduated with Dave up in heaven. Thanks for the memories Dave.
I had the distinct honor of knowing Dave through his years of dedicated support to being a Carrier dealer with his business. My heart breaks hearing of this news because I witnessed Dave's love of life, family and friends and his dedication to work. My sincere sympathies to his family and friends. May he forever live in your hearts, May he forever watch over you all.
My deepest condolences to all of Dave's family. Dave was one of the first people I met in the ultra community and he inspired me each and every time I saw him. He will be deeply missed.
I'm really sorry for your loss, Ken.

My condolences to all the family..... Cathy and all the kids and grand kids during this very difficult time. I met Dave when my mother in law (Mary) and Dave's father Ken dated and later married and the Williamson/Carver family began. Dave was always a kind and gentle person. Family was so important to him and he was an AMAZING father . He will be sadly missed by so many that knew him and his generosity. May he rest in peace
I was lucky to have had Dave Carver as my friend. I respected his parenting wisdom and dedication to family. I admired and was amazed by his running abilities. I can't even begin to think of how much I'll miss him at morning coffee. I thought he would go on running (maybe with a limp) forever. He was a powerhouse filled with passion and determination in a relatively small package but impossible to ignore and will never be forgotten. Mike
My heartfelt condolences to Dave's family and friends! Dave was an awesome schoolmate growing up! He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Our sincere condolences to the Carver family. I got to know David when his sister Beverly and I travelled to Wales to support the him and the Canadian team in a 24 hour marathon race. He was passionate about the sport and determined to complete the race with a goal of participating in more races in The Netherlands and The united States. He was surrounded by a supportive family and it was an amazing experience and trip that I will never forget. David will be missed by his family and friends.

My sincere condolences to the Carver family and to all who knew Dave Aside from bing the best friend I've ever had, he was a very generous and compassionate person. He had many struggles in his short life but always could overcome them. We ran many miles together which I will cherish forever. Most of all I cherish the true friendship we had for each other. Rest In Peace my friend.
Deeply saddened to hear the news of Dave's passing. Sincere condolences to Dave's friends and loving family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Carver family at this difficult time. I went through school with Dave. I had the privilege of wrestling with Dave and the pleasure of sharing sheet metal class together. Mr Lange took the two of us aside in high school and said boys, your good at this, you should take it up as a profession. Well, Dave did, fortunately and he installed a furnace for us a couple years back. It was great to see him again and chat a little about our mutual passion for running and friends from the past. My condolences to the entire family. Rest in peace my friend.
