Christopher (Chris) Mark Cleaver

May 27, 2016

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Christopher (Chris) Mark Cleaver on May 27, 2016, in his 65th year, surrounded by family and friends. Wonderful youngest son of the late Catherine and Roy Charles Cleaver. Caring brother to Stephen (Virginia), Susan (Thomas Bell), and Jill (Alvin Noftall), who will all miss him dearly. Proud uncle to Glenn (Bettina), Christina (Dan), Caroline (Raymond), Allyson (Scott), James (Kristina), Douglas (Pixie) and Kenneth. Wonderfully blessed to have had many McElligott cousins who will miss him always. On Chris’ behalf, we thank Valerie, Charlie, family and friends who were with him in his final moments alongside us. Chris leaves a legacy of generosity, kindness and love. In honour of Chris, visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Chris are asked to consider the London Health Sciences Foundation (Victoria Campus) or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

More than just a co-worker, I considered Chris a warm and caring friend who was always there to listen and act with compassion whenever his help was needed. He was a unique, honest, humourous and devoted man who left an indelible mark on everyone he met. I will cherish forever the 20 years I had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in peace, Cleaveria.

My sincere sympathy to the family. Chris and I played together as youngsters. Our Moms would catch up on news together at your house in Dorval. Chris was always such a sweet caring friend. Many years later we met at your Mom's funeral. He was the same caring person I remembered. Gone too soon.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Chris's sudden passing. Over the few years he worked with us he was always kind, helpful and a true gentleman. We always enjoyed our meetings that lasted half the afternoons talking about more than just work and constantly laughing. Our deepest condolences to his family. He will truly be missed.

I had the immense honor and pleasure to work with Chris when I was first hired at what was the A Channel. We sat next to one another every day, and being new in the business, Chris kindly took me under his wing. Chris was at his core a gentleman, a giver, a proud and loving man. But more than anything, I will always remember our laughs. I attribute so much of my early success to him. His guidance, his encouragement and how he taught me to do business. Always with integrity. I wish more than anything that I could have seen him more these last years, but he has never been far from my heart. You will be missed by so many Chris. Rest in peace my dear friend.

I was so saddened to hear the news of Chris's passing. I worked with Chris over multiple years with Toronto client's that needed expansion into London/Kitchener. Chris was a consummate professional with every schedule, email or phone call discussion. He was a very genuine person and I very much enjoyed working with him. He will be missed by his friends at Bell Media in Toronto. My thoughts and prayers are with both his family and his CTV family in Kitchener/London.

I am sad and shocked to hear of Chris's passing. We met 25 years ago and travelled to Austria to set up a CFPL advertisers trip and for many years after enjoyed his company on the yearly trips. Chris also sold me TV ads and I loved his sale approach and charm. He will be missed by many and certainly by me. Chris was just a great guy period!!
