Christopher Blake Chizmar
November 28, 2020
1968 ~ 2020
Chris died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, November 28, 2020. Surviving him are his parents Donna and Bill Chizmar; his two sisters and their spouses, Andrea (Scott) Patience, Jennifer (Bryan) Channer; and his nephew and nieces, James Patience, Carolyn Patience, Stella Channer and Loewe Channer, all of whom will miss him dearly. Chris graduated from Saunders Secondary School, where he was active athletically. Upon graduation, he continued his education at the University of Windsor, Ontario. Chris was active in business during his lifetime as a realtor and a renovator, having restored several interesting homes in London. He loved nature, music and sports. He was an avid golfer and skier, and loved to explore nature. He also attended concerts and sports events regularly, and enjoyed the company of his family and friends. Chris will be sadly missed by his family and many friends but the memory of his sense of humour, his gregariousness and sense of caring, will live on. A memorial tree will be planted in London to honour his memory. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Chris are asked to consider a charity of your choice.
“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear”.

Dear Donna and Bill We are sorry to read that your son has passed away. You are in our thoughts during this sad time and send you our sincere condolences.
Mr & Mrs Chizmar, and families. I am so sorry to hear about Chris passing. I have very fond memories of our childhood with Chris playing hockey, skiing, fishing going to see the Michigan Panthers. Please accept my sincerest condolences. RIP Chris.
Chris was such a wonderful guy. I loved his big smile and laugh. He always greeted everyone with a big hug. My family was very fond of Chris growing up. He will be very missed. Sending lots of love to the Chizmar family. Love from the Van Ryn's & the Brosnan's. Xx
Sending condolences to the Chizmar Family, so sorry for your loss. I went to grade school and high school with Chris. He was very friendly and liked to make people laugh.
Bill - we are not supposed to bury our children, it's supposed to be the other way around. I so well remember Chris coming around to the house and the dealership over the years hanging out with our boys and how much fun he always was. So sad to see someone go so young. You have all my sympathies.
My sincerest condolences to the Chizmar family. Deeply saddened and shocked to hear this news. Chris was a friend of mine from Jean Vanier and Saunders. I have some of my fondest high school memories sitting next to Chris in class and the laughs we shared. Rest In Peace old friend.
Mr. & Mrs. Chizmar, extended families, I'm shocked and saddened to hear that Chris has passed away. I met Chris at Saunders and we were roommates our first two years at Windsor, we shared many fun and incredible memories of those times, I will never forget. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
My deepest sympathies to the Chizmar family. I went to high-school with Chris and remember him to be a friendly, easy going and fun to hang out with. There was always a smile on his face. He (and Lloyd Mailloux) were the first kids I met when I moved to London from Nova Scotia in 1982. I've always remembered that it was a great day. I was so sad to hear of his passing. So sorry for your loss.
Mr & Mrs Chizmar & Family - Please accept my condolences on behalf of the Leland Road Morrissy Family. This has certainly come as a shock and we hope that you are able to find comfort in sharing these memories. Reading other comments is certainly a trip down memory lane for many of us - some names I have not seen for many years. I have several flashbacks which stand out to me. During our early years at Jean Vanier, Chris was a major part of my young life and I recall many days spent with Chris at our houses, in the pool, free-ranging the neighbourhood with our group of friends, playing hockey in the streets and riding our bikes in the forest. A couple of interesting ones jumped back to me upon hearing the news - one was Bill betting Chris & I that the Roughriders would win the Grey Cup - we were eager to take the bet until we realized that Ottawa was playing Saskatchewan - both Roughriders - well played Bill! Another was Chris & I getting busted for playing with matches in the woods - dumb kids! Lastly - there are many - was Chris proudly showing me his KISS album collection with each face on the cover and thrashing along on the drums which he was learning at the time! Take Care, Chris.
Chiz - I am deeply Saddened and heartbroken you are gone, you my good friend - were like a brother to me. I will always cherish our fun times out in London and sports events and concerts. You were always there for help, chats about anything and your laughter and smile will always be remembered. You were taken way to soon - I will remember you always - until we meet again my friend 💖ðŸ™
I am so saddened to hear of the loss of my dearly loved "cous". I'll always remember Chris for his quick charismatic wit. It made him infinitely likable. He was very laid back, but I think that his laissez-faire attitude kind of masked how much he really cared about his friendships and loved his family. Chris will be sorely missed.
I'm so sorry to hear this news. I remember Chris to be a big personality and he had a way of connecting with many different people. My thoughts are with the Chizmar family.
To the Chizmar family; I am saddened to hear of Chris. I have very fond memories of our decades long friendship. Playing minor hockey, watching drag races at Cayuga, golfing until there was no daylight every chance we could get, attending Saunders, jumping in his backyard pool oasis and many years of Christmas Eve parties at my parents ... plus so much more. We will miss ya buddy.
My deepest most heartfelt condolences go out to Chris' family for this huge loss. Chris was one of a kind. We've known each other just over 20 yrs and the very first time I met him he told me he was going to take me to a concert. A month or so later he called me up and said KISS is in Detroit tomorrow and that we were going. It wasnt until we got to the parking lot at Auburn Hills that I realized he had no tickets. We got some real nose bleeder seats off a scalper but we worked together to move up to awesome seats so close to the stage. I still have my tshirt that chris bought me. What an adventure! We became fast friends. I am gonna miss you and your sense of humor, wit, optimism and positivity. But I'm sure I will see you again and that we will go to the best rock concert ever (I'm sure already there, so save me a seat)! So I will just say peace out for now, and I will you again someday. Ya Ya!!✌
I am so very sorry to hear this sad news. Chris was always very kind to me during high school and I'll always remember his smile, together with many good times and conversations. My thoughts go out to his entire family.
My deepest condolence to the family and friends of Chris. My thoughts and prayer are with all of you. I knew Chris will from living on Viscount rd and University. RIP Chris....
To the Chizmar Family, I have very fond memories of our times at Saunders SS competing on the X-Country Team, working a small business together one summer, and having many laughs and fun times together. Please accept my condolences and we all hope that Chris is in a better place now.
I wish to express my deepest condolences to the Chizmar family. I considered Chiz one of my dearest friends. We shared many happy times together over the last few years. I was Chris's Geography teacher at Saunders. I remember him as a very gregarious boy, engaging and always looking for some fun thing to do. He and his buddies used to ask me to go fishing with them to Medway Creek but it never happened and I always heard about their adventures. I am very saddened to hear of his passing, especially at such a young age. My condolences to his family.

I was very sad to learn that Chris died. My condolences to Andrea and the rest of his family. Chris was an old friend from Westmount. My sister Darcie, brother Myles and I knew Chris through Jean Vanier Elementary School and Saunders Secondary High. Although I have been out west for over twenty years, I will always remember Chris for his laughter and excellent taste in music. We had some very good times.
I was so saddened to hear about Chris's passing. I knew him during my early years at Western. He dated my best friend and I would enjoy hearing about their day trips skiing and going to different restaurants in London. At the time, we all shared a love of live music no matter the day of the week. I remember Chris as being a kind and caring lad. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
My condolences to the Chizmar Family. Mike Orcutt messaged me of Chris's passing and my memories of being friends with Chris flooded back. Our time at Jean Vanier school, of playing summer baseball in the Optimist league, of swimming in the coolest pool in the neighborhood at his house and biking around Westmount, of playing street hockey on Leland Road in front of the Dudzic's and Morrissey's are all wonderful memories that we shared. So sad to hear of his passing at such a young age and again, my deepest condolences to the family.
I was visiting London at Christmas about 10 years ago and popped into Kubbys Bar and a Grill for a beer and some World Junior hockey. Chris was sitting at the bar and we hung out all night talking about the old days. Many times.since that night, when I'm in London I pop into Kubbys hoping Chris is there. It saddens me to know that I won't find him there again. My deepest condolences to the extended Chizmar family. RIP "Wang".
It has been awhile since we have seen Chris but his name often comes up when we reminisce about the old days. I am very shocked and disheartened to hear of the passing of my old friend Chris Chizmar. At 52, there is so much more life to live. I went to high school with Chris but we become friends during our University years. I fondly recall all the times we spent together going to New Year's parties, hanging out at Hanover's as well as attending rock concerts. My favourite was seeing Pink Floyd. My heart goes out to the Chizmar family. I will miss you.
