Christopher Alton Davison
August 31, 2019
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Christopher Alton Davison, age 35, born at the IWK hospital for Children in Nova Scotia on July 15, 1984. Christopher passed peacefully surrounded by family, at University Hospital in London, Ontario on Saturday, August 31st, 2019 after unexpected complications following heart surgery.
Chris was a supportive partner, father, son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend. He started dating the love of his life Cara Ashley Thiel on Halloween night 2009. Two days later they were roommates! The rest is history. Together, they brought three beautiful children into the world: Tayla Hope Marie Davison (8), Noah Charles Davison (7), and Mia Everly Davison (5). Chris was a loving and extremely hardworking father who loved to play, cook, and spend time with his family even after long days working in construction. He had many talents and a sharp mind; and was a gifted artist and craftsman. He worked mostly in carpentry and construction, (passions passed down by his father). Chris will be remembered for his contagious laugh; if Chris was in the room and laughing, you were laughing too. His loved ones will carry his clever sense of humour, calm presence, and his brave and adventurous spirit with them.
Chris is survived by his beloved partner, Cara Thiel; daughters, Tayla Davison and Mia Davison; son, Noah Davison; stepdaughter, Jaylee Thiel; father, Charlie Axmoth Davison; stepmother, Karen Marie Davison; mother, Carol Gaul Silvia; grandmother, Maurietta Ruth Davidson; and his siblings, Kristen Porter (Jamie Patterson); Amelia Virani (Fy Virani); Colton Porter (Renèe Porter); and niece, Gemma Porter.
A funeral service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Gaspereau Community Centre, 2806 Greenfield Road, Wolfville, Nova Scotia on Saturday, September 14th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions to a trust fund for Christopher’s children. Very sad, and very sorry, to hear the news about Chris. Thinking of you, Charlie, Karen, and family, today on the day of his funeral. All week you have never been far from my thoughts. Chris, even as a young boy playing soccer, I always found to be thoughtful, kind, considerate, and eager to lend a hand if he could. Add to that a shy, sweet smile, a quiet twinkle in his eye, athleticism, great determination, and a sense of humour and adventure, and you have the Chris that I remember. Although I haven't seen him often in recent years, in every encounter he was always the same. Only the focus had changed, from wanting to be a great soccer player, to wanting to be the best he could for his family. I'm grateful to have known Christopher, and for the memories. Particularly remember the week he stayed with us at the beach and the endless games of soccer on the back field. He and Toby would play until they were hot and tired, then go in the water to cool off, have a bite to eat, and back to the soccer again! Wishing you joy in the memories, strength in dealing with your loss, and peace in the future as you move on with him always in your hearts..
Christopher, I did not have the honour to meet you and your family, but your Dad and step-Mom I know well and it sounds like you are much like your Dad and inherited his skills as a carpenter. Those who know your Dad & step-Mom promise to care for them in these sad days. We know they will be great grandparents to your little ones and their Mom as time moves on. Rest easy and be at peace with your Creator.

our deepest condolences, a life well lived but lost to soon
We are truly sorry to hear such a loss we are thinking about you all .
Sending our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Being away from the Valley and close contact with some family it took me a while to figure out our connection but when I read that his grandmother is my niece I got it. Will be thinking of you all .
You're going to be missed Chris, I'll always have lots of great memories with you and the boys. Your artwork covers one of my arms in an incredible sleeve. Last things I said to you bro were not cool and all over money, I wish I could take it back and let you know I don't care about the money. Thinking of you and that laugh you had when you're playing a joke on someone or the fast come backs you had had. Rest peacefully bro, till we meet again.
Charlie, Karen, and family: We were shocked to hear the tragic news of Christopher's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time in your lives. We will forever have the fond memories of Christopher, who, as a teenager, spent a great deal of time at our home.
