Cheryl Stacey (née Whitney)

March 2, 2025

With love and gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved Mom and adored wife, Cheryl Stacey (née Whitney), in her 78th year on Sunday, March 2, 2025, with her family by her side. Nothing was more important to Cheryl than family, immediate and extended. She leaves behind her devoted husband Bill of 52 years. Loving Mom to her three children: Jeffrey, Jason (Mallorie) and Jennifer (Kevin). Cheryl was a dedicated and doting Nana to her five grandchildren Lily, Ella, Addison, Parker and Brooks. Cheryl was a cherished sister to Derek (Nancy) and her late brother David (Linda). Predeceased by her parents Melville and Lillian (Mickey). As she said and they would agree, Cheryl was the favourite aunt to her eight nieces and nephews. Cheryl’s home was filled with laughter, warm cooked meals, and a pantry full of food for all who visited. Her favourite holiday was Christmas Eve, when the three families gathered for Chinese food. Cheryl worked as a dedicated nurse for over 35 years. After her retirement, she worked for many years at The Bay. When finally slowing down, she loved to spend her time with her grandchildren, both at home and in Florida. Cheryl endured a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. We would like to thank Highview Residence and McCormick Home for their care and compassion for Cheryl during the last five years. A celebration of life will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, Dying with Dignity Canada, or the day program at McCormick Home.
