Cheryl ‘Sherry’ Marks
July 25, 2021
June 25, 1958 – July 25, 2021
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Sherry Marks on Sunday, July 25, 2021. She was a loyal and devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend of those whose lives she touched.
Born in London, Ontario, Sherry carved the path of possibility for those who were dedicated to their work. Through her 41 years of service with London Life (now Canada Life), she was well known for her intellect, work ethic, sense of humour, and commitment to assertiveness when faced with challenges in her role. In 2018, she retired as the Manager of Field Relations, and left a legacy of female empowerment in the workplace.
Sherry made an impact on all of the lives she touched and was often coined as ‘the life of the party’, bringing joy and laughter into social settings accompanied by music and dancing. She was known to keep an immaculate house, was highly skilled in problem solving, and kept everyone in her life organized (this included weekly reminders, such as garbage day). A father’s girl at heart, gardening and puttering around were also a passion.
Sherry blessed us with her daughter, Chenise, with love and dedication to ensure her ‘baby’ was a symbolism of her most admirable qualities: strength, charisma and whit.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 23 years, John; her only child, Chenise; sister, Tracy (Brian) Hartwick; brother, Jeff (Kathryn) Levitt; her parents, Ken and Mary Levitt; as well as numerous relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed by her friends at the RiverBend Golf Community, as well as her Hunt Club neighbourhood walking buddies.
The family would like to thank the palliative care team on the 6th floor at Victoria Hospital, for the kind and compassionate care given to Sherry.
A Celebration of Sherry’s Life will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Registration is required to attend.

Dear John, Chenise and family members, know that Sherry was so appreciated by those who had the good fortune of working with her. When she came to Montreal, we would always go out for drinks and she would affectionately speak of her family, especially her wonderful daughter and her devoted husband. Sherry transitioned from client to friend. We both retired at the same time and we had kept in contact. I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss Sherry deeply.
Sherry absolutely was the life of the party! I started a neighbourhood progressive party when I lived around the corner. When Sherry took over the planning she grew it to its present fabulousness. She was a dynamo! Just heard the very sad news today. I'm so sorry for John and Chenise. Chenise babysat my girls way back when. You are both in my thoughts. 🌹🌹🌹

John and Chenise, although we never met I feel I know you both because of how Sherry always talked proudly and lovingly about you both. Sherry and I worked together between the early 2000's and until she retired. We had a great working working relationship and I always knew I could consult with her on any matter and she'd always provide great advice and counsel. I was so saddened to hear about your loss. I will miss her terribly.
John, Chenise, & family....I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Sherry was a dear friend that I respected tremendously, and that I laughed with enormously. From the times we golfed together, to our walks around the neighborhood, and our backyard visits. Her kindness, wit, generosity, and love of life will be sadly missed. Cheers my friend.... xox

I had the great fortune of working with and getting to know Sherry over years at London Life/Great-West Life. A highlight was a 6 week trial we worked on in St. John's, Newfoundland. John and Chenise, my condolences to you and your family. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Sherry's passing. She will be missed by many.
My deepest condolences to all of Sherry's family. Like many, I worked with Sherry at Canada Life. I feel blessed to have worked with her and to have called her my friend. What a great sense of humor -- did we ever have some good laughs at work! While she loved her "work family", nothing compared to the love and admiration she had when she spoke of her family, especially for her daughter, Chenise. My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.
My sincerest sympathies to your entire family on the loss of such a dynamo as Sherry. I had the pleasure of getting to know Sherry while she was diligently working some of her files. No matter how busy she was, she always had time to discuss the file and give updates. She worked hard, played hard and always found the humour in life. I told her often that the company owed her a vineyard to help her 'cope' with the work load. She will be truly missed and never forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
My sincere sympathy to John, Chenise and all of Sherys family. I had the pleasure of working under Sherry in field relations i left to return to the UK and kept in touch fir a little while then lost touch for some reason. Sherry will always hold a special place in my heart. RIP my friend see you on the other side fly highâ¤ï¸ 😢
