Chad Hammoud
December 15, 2022
With deep sadness, the family announce the unexpected passing of their dearly loved Chad, at Victoria Hospital, on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the age of 30. Chad was determined to enjoy all that life had to offer despite his physical and other health challenges; he left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He had a smile and a laugh that could light up a room. The love for his family and friends was unconditional and he looked forward to every chance he had to connect with them. Chad was a music lover and would enthusiastically sing the lyrics to an endless number of songs with pure joy. He truly enjoyed going on community outings, from walks in the neighbourhood and library trips, to live concerts and plays, to swimming at the YMCA, as well as day trips by train to Toronto. Reading stories, including reciting favourite passages by memory and sharing picture books of all kinds with family and friends were memorable times to all who had the opportunity to do this with Chad. He also shared his passion for computer games with many over the years and spent countless hours mastering Keen and Lemmings games with his dad.
A grateful thank you goes out to all the wonderful support people and medical professionals who cared for Chad. You helped him live a full life. Thanks as well to the dedicated and caring staff at Cranbrook, Day Break, and Project Hope. A special mention to Linda McMurphy and Karen Tracey who have supported Chad for many years…you are like family!
Chad is survived by his devoted parents Ali and Belinda Hammoud, beloved brother Adam Hammoud (Michelle Dittrich) and grandmothers Renate Thiel and Nadia Hammoud as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He held a special place in his heart for his Omi and Opa (predeceased) and Aunt Sylvia. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. To protect those who are medically vulnerable and those who are supporting them, we ask that you please wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.

Dear Ali, Belinda, Adam and family: We were so saddened to hear of Chad's passing. The neighbourhood just won't be the same without him around. Chad was always so happy to see us and to say hello, even through the slats on your deck. The last time we saw him, enjoying a beautiful November sunny day on the driveway with family, he asked for a hug. It was so touching for us and little did we know it was our "so long" hug. He often loved to sing outside, and we'd have a little chuckle and smile - Chad's home! Chad was very fortunate to have such a loving and supportive family and support network. Everyone worked so hard to ensure he had the best quality of life. May he rest in peace.
Sending my condolences to Belinda, Ali and the rest of the family. I have so many wonderful memories with Chad that I have treasured to this day
We are devastated to hear about Chad's passing and send your family our deepest condolences. Chad was a wonderful young man who took joy in the little things in life that brought him such happiness on a daily basis. His friendship with Nicole was based on their mutual enjoyment of music through the L' Arche Music Club as well as their shared sense of humour. Nicole loved receiving the unique cards that Chad would create for her for many many holidays including Hallowe'en, Thanksgiving , Christmas and birthdays. Nicole and Chad enjoyed talking on the phone on a regular basis as well as "shopping" at the Masonville Mall. Michael and Chad shared their interest in painting through the PH program Possibilities in Paint. Over the years we enjoyed seeing Chad's colourful paintings on display at the PH Art Show as well as the many paintings that were made into unique greeting cards. Chad will forever be remembered in our hearts. We will miss Chad's smile on Earth but we know that Heaven has gained another angel to watch over all of us.
It is with a heavy heart that I hear of Chad's passing. I will never forget his smile and his baritone voice while singing his favorite songs in the morning. He was a joy and absolute treasure to assist while he was still at home. RIP Chad.
My condolences go out to you and family. I'm so privileged to have been a part of Chad's life on a somewhat daily basis. I will always remember the good times we had. I'm was sad when Hailey showed me this to me. I love his laugh and our craft time together.
Chad brought such great joy to all those around him. I will always remember my time spend with Chad, singing, crafting, and laughing.. He will remain in my heart always. My sincere condolences to you Belinda, Ali, and family. May your loving memories bring comfort to you in the days ahead.
Hi Belinda and Ali, I just heard about this unfortunate news. My deepest thoughts are with you guys, he was a blessing to anyone that was lucky enough to cross paths with him. I remember our respite visits, although it had been quite a few years now since I saw him, I always thought of him and you guys. I loved how he loved to joke around, I could get him to laugh. He couldn't have been blessed with better parents and family.
