My deepest sympathies to the family. I met Oscar in Germany during the period of `1953-55 whilst serving with 2 RCR. I always knew him as "Lambert CO Cpl" and did not meet up with him until approximately 10-15 years ago. I met his son in Kingston at Paardeberg festivities in Feb 2009. Oscar was one of the good buys who believed in doing things correctly Pro Patria

My deepest and sincere sympathies to all the members of Oscar's extended family. We served together in 1 RCR and I cherish those good times we shared and wise council he gave me as a new subbie. He exemplified the qualities that we look for in professional soldiers and I know that he positively influenced many others in The Regiment. Pro Patria! Doug Palmer (R.C.R)
