Caroline Prohaska
November 22, 2022
It is with sadness the family of Caroline Prohaska announces her sudden passing at University Hospital in London on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. Carol lived a full and fruitful 91 years. She is predeceased by her husband Mickey; sister Mary; and brothers John and George. Carol was born in Insinger, Saskatchewan on September 7, 1931 to Wasyl and Wasylyna Prokopiuk. The family moved to Southern Ontario and farmed outside Ridgetown for many years. After their parents had passed, brother John continued to successfully farm growing tobacco and commercial corn. Carol worked for Bell Canada in the Engineering department as an accomplished draft person for 30 years. She loved art and captured many nature scenes on canvas to a high degree of satisfaction. She also had a critical ear for music, and played the accordion and later the keyboard. Caroline was often playing a tune for her older surviving sister Lillian over the phone. She had a fondness for nice things and did extensive remodeling in her various homes as well as driving classy cars. Carol enjoyed living in the independent living apartment at Foxhollow Retirement Home in London. She is missed by all.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Carol are asked to consider the London Health Sciences Foundation – University Hospital.

Great Aunt Carol. Such an inspirational intelligent woman. Knowledgeable about self care and so independent. I’ll always remember the beautiful bed of purple irises in her garden at her home she lived in during my years at Western. Purple irises were the perfect backdrop for my graduation photo. Mandarin lunches. BMW wheels. Loved this marvellous lady. She will be greatly missed.
