I was acting Chaplain at Glendale for 6 months in early 2019 and often connected with Dick and Linda. We would often listen and watch banjo YouTube videos. Dick was always a good singer to when I held services and my wife and him got along great. I often visited him afterwards and we had plans to learn the ukulele together. Dick had a good sense of humour. We often talked about God and our faith in Jesus. Dick knew he was going to be with Christ when leaving this world. I pray God's arms of love and comfort for you Linda and thank the good staff at Glendale for looking well after him and all the people under their care.

We really enjoyed our times visiting with Dick. Loved his laughter and enthusiasm for hockey. Dick was interested in people and was always thoughtful and kind to others. We had many interesting conversations. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.

We first met Diak approximately 17 years ago when our son Jeremy and Tanya became serious about their relationship. Dick was a gentle pleasant man. He didn't say much but when he did speak, his words were thoughtful. He enjoyed life and when I saw him, he never failed to ask me the current colour of my middle son's hair. I know he will be missed by all of you especially you Linda. Finally Dick, you can rest in peace. Finally you can go gently into that good night.
