Brooklynn Teresa Johnston

September 29, 2017

Born May 29, 2017, passed away at Toronto SickKids Hospital in her parents’ arms, surrounded by family on September 29, 2017 at only 4 months of age.  After being diagnosed with non-compaction (restrictive) cardiomyopathy, she lost her battle only 17 days later and is now at peace.  Beloved and irreplaceable daughter of Stephanie Davis and Brandon Johnston, “best sister ever” and “best friend” to Ethan Johnston.  She is dearly loved and missed.  Our family wishes to express gratitude to the medical team and all the caring nurses on 4D at SickKids Hospital.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in Brooklynn’s memory are asked to consider SickKids The Hospital for Sick Children.

Words cannot express how sad we are to hear of the devastating loss of your beautiful little girl. The loss of a child has to be the most heart breaking of all and no words from anyone could possibly cure your pain. You can only take comfort in the knowledge that you and the doctors did everything that could be done and that she is now at peace. Take care Stephanie, Brandon and Ethan

Sweet Brooklyn..I'm sending you all the hearts of all the grandmas in the universe. May you journey in joy and splendour. Much love to the family you have left to carry your precious memory. I will think of you every time I get to hold my darling granddaughter Brooklyn. God bless from all the grandmas.❤️

Throughout various posts and pictures, I was finally able to see you but never had the opportunity to hold or see you smile. You came to this world a few months ago and in such a short time you have touched so many hearts and made such a great impact on others. You are a true Angel!!! Brooklynn, you have taught me that the amount of time one has in life is not gauranteed and living every moment as if it were the last is now more than just a catchy saying. Love you forever, Uncle Lyndon

To our sweet Angel Brooklynn. When Pooh Bah and I held you for the first time, your precious smile touched our hearts forever. Your eyes held our gaze and we knew that a special Angel had been sent to us. Holding you in our arms for the first time, your smile and spirit touched us in a way that words can not be found to describe. The love and peace that was our bond shall last forever. Brooklynn you will always have a special place in our hearts and your spirit will be with us always. Hugs and kisses forever sweetie, and until we meet again, our hearts will ache with love for you. Dearest Steph, Brandon, Ethan and Teresa. Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of baby Brooklynn. She was a precious baby and you were wonderful parents. Please know that Brooklynn will be with you forever. She will leave little signs and you will know it's her. I am here for you if you ever need anything.

Brooklyn, thank you for all the "girl time" chats, and smiles. You have the most amazing family! And a wonderful, caring and funny big brother Ethan! Thinking of all of you during this difficult time.

~ Sabina

Brookie, Mommy, Daddy & Ethan love you and miss you SO MUCH! We are happy that you aren't suffering anymore but since you left...our hearts have been broken and our tears won't stop. There is a huge hole in our hearts from the pieces we sent you off with when you left us. You are a blessing to us. Our little miracle. Even though your time here was short, you have changed us all forever and touched many others in this world. Thank you for allowing us to be blessed with you. We are so proud and honoured to call ourselves your parents and brother. Your smile was so contagious it could light up any room and even melt the heart of strangers. Although your feet were so tiny, they have left huge footprints behind and we just want you to know that. Please visit us often and hold our hands, we hold you forever in our hearts. It hurts so bad without you.

~ Mommy

Stephanie, Brandon and Ethan. Our hearts are so heavy with the sadness you are feeling with the loss of your precious Brooklyn. Although we did not meet Brooklyn, we got to know her through your shared posts and pictures. While there is no way we can feel your pain, we do feel your loss. Peace and love to you and your family during this sorrowful time. Love Chris & Megan "And we wept that one so lovely should have a life so brief." William Cullen Bryant
