Brooke Charles Lionel Nelles

June 5, 2016

Quietly in his sleep on Sunday, June 5th, 2016 at Victoria Hospital in his 66th year. He left us as he lived:  with peace and dignity. Beloved son of the late Mary and Archdeacon Lionel Nelles. Cherished brother of Dr. Ruth Nelles Fink (Paul). Loving uncle to Ashley Carra (Daniel) and Thomas Fink. Proud great-uncle to Emma Carra. His loss is also mourned by his forever friend, Donna Lamb-Gunness and his step-daughters Catharine Veinot (Sam) and Brittany Veinot (Dave). Predeceased by his niece Mary Claire Fink. Brooke was a Master bridge player, a veteran of many North American bridge tournaments and contributed greatly to the London bridge community, as well as the ‘London Bridge Centre’. The family would like to thank the entire Oncology Department at London Health Sciences Centre, especially Dr. Winquist and staff for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. The memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Saturday, June 18th, 2016 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations in Brooke’s memory may be made to Prostate Cancer Canada or St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church.

Dear Ruth and all-Am so sorry to hear about Brooke. He still has that boyish grin that I remember from oh so many years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Betsy

Brooke was a great bridge partner and a wonderful golf teacher. I will miss our golf outings together and our Bridge games as well. God bless you Brooke and all of your family and friends. Rest in peace. The suffering is over.

Brooke was a wonderful neighbour and friend. He accepted his lot in life gracefully and was a non complainer. May he rest in peace and be free of all pain and suffering. Anna and Neil. #207

Brooke's untimely death is a loss. We were bridge acquaintances for over 30 years, then became bridge partners & good friends. He was always an interesting person to visit with well thought out opinions. I will miss our meetings.
