Brian Charles Thompson

February 14, 2019

             Born: Winnipeg, MB
July 19, 1945 ~ February 14, 2019

With great sadness, we announce Brian’s passing, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.  Brian leaves behind his wife Penny, of 48 years; children: Courtney (John), Kevan (Jess); grandchildren Brynne and Rylan; brother Darryl, as well as numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.  Brian loved his family, spending time at the lake, a good game of golf and a good glass of scotch.  We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the McCormick Home staff, that so lovingly cared for Brian throughout this difficult time.  A memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Brian are asked to consider the McCormick Care Foundation.

We are so very sorry to hear of Brian's passing. He was a very dear man we will always remember with fondness. So many wonderful memories of good times at Sioux Narrows with all the family. It has no doubt been a very difficult time these last several years with Brian stricken with such a devastating and unkind disease. He was so fortunate to the love and devotion of his family throughout his life. Our hearts go out to you all, we have you in our thoughts and prayers and send out deepest condolences. With love, Susie & Tom and family

I am so very sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Brian at London Life for many years. He was always a symbol of professionalism, he loved a good laugh, was highly respected by everyone in the office and a beautiful, gentle soul. Those of us that had the pleasure of working with him will never forget him. God Bless you.

~ Debra Logghe

Jess & Kevan, I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers at this difficult time.

Brian was my first best friend as we grew up on Clonard Avenue in St. Vital, Manitoba. After high school we went on different paths. He eventually moved east and I moved to Hawaii. I will always remember going to the horse races with Brian, Daryl, and their father. If he won, we were treated to ice cream. I have fond memories of my friend and his brother Daryl. To Brian's family, in time you will be able to enjoy the memories of the life of this fine man. John R. Turner Honolulu, Hawaii

Many fond memories travelling with Brian to New York when I worked for him at Great- West Life. He was a great mentor.

Kevan, Jess and family, we are thinking of all of you at this time. Remember the good times, the laughs and the love you shared as you celebrate your dad's life.

Thinking of you all - may your shared memories bring you comfort during this difficult time. We always enjoyed seeing Brian's smile, and hearing his infectious laugh, "over the fence" when he visited Stratford. We were moved by the love and pride he obviously had for and shared so freely with your whole family. May his example of a zest for life, love, and adventure continue to be an inspiration for you all. His legacy will live on in your shared stories, and the model he has become for Brynne and Rylan. With love, the Framst / Carter Family
