Betty Joyce Neely
August 13, 2023
On Sunday, August 13, 2023, our mother, at the age of 98, passed away peacefully with her daughter Jody by her side. She is the last of 8 siblings and as one of her nephews called her the matriarch of the family. Before her dementia, she was able to work on the history of her sibling’s families, recalling many events from the past. She could also remember birthdates, not just of her immediate family but also her numerous nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her son Cal (Susan), daughters Jody and Wanda and son Lane. Grandchildren Jolene (Mike), Erin, Trevor, Whitney (Matt), Sean and step grandson Ryan. Great-grandchildren Addison, Dante, Kira, and Haley plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m., with a reception following. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery following the reception.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners.
