Betty Joan Stockdale

Born February 14, 1930 in Toronto and passed away November 13, 2013 at Chelsey Park Long Term Care. Beloved wife of George Arthur Stockdale for 59 years. Devoted mother of Susan Kent of Yellowknife, NT and Jim (Bonnie) of Ingersoll. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Jane Jones (June 2002). Loving mother-in-law of Ken Jones of London. Loving grandmother of Richard, Andrew, Sarah, Katie and Amanda. Proud great-grandmother of Jada, Jennica, Jocelyn, Phoenix, Kyle, Cypress, Natasha and Zaira. George and Betty were charter members of Westmount Presbyterian Church from 1968. Betty was one of the first two female Elders in the congregation and served for 26 years. She was also the convenor of the Pastoral Care committee for 17 years and was active in the other three ladies groups. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and reception will be held at Westmount Presbyterian Church, 521 Village Green Ave., on Monday, November 18th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Private family interment, Woodland Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Betty are asked to consider the Westmount Presbyterian Expansion Fund or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

We are saddened to learn of yet another gracious lady's passing . Betty was always a genuine treat to join for dinner with George at Greenhills. My wife took to her like a high school class mate . George and you were all very lucky to have her in your lives all these years ....as were we ever so briefly .
