Dear John and Chloe, I am so sorry to hear of Barbara's passing. Even though we all knew it was imminent, nevertheless, her loss is devastating for you, and her friends. For the past 22 years we attended the Y together and Barbara was always a very active part of the group, enjoying all our social activities. Our Monday gatherings will be diminished without her. Over the years Barbara and I discovered accidentally that we are distant cousins and I felt that gave us a special bond. I will miss her greatly. You have experienced much sadness over the past year and I wish you both the strength to endure and carry on.

~ Patricia Stephenson

Barbara's warm smile and friendship will be truly missed each Monday at Y Ladies Day. She fought a long hard battle and unfortunately and sadly the cancer won. Barbara loved her family dearly. John and Chloe, so sorry for your loss keep sharing your memories she will always be in your heart. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Barbara was the sweetest nicest best friend a girl could ask for. We met in grade 7 while writing on the blackboard comparing each others penmanship and remained friends through our high school years. It is not to say we didn't have our quarrels and they were big ones, but they were few and far between. We were bridesmaids at each others weddings and continued to stay cloae friends throughout the years. I will miss you Barbie, You are now free of pain and are with Barry, the love of your life and your sweet daughter Julia. My deepest sympathy to your son John and granddaughter Chole. Rest in peace dear friend. Love Denise

Barbara Ann was like a sister to me even though we were first cousins and lived miles apart. I will miss her but hope to see her again on the other side. John and Chloe: you will be in our thoughts and prayers as you adjust to life without your parents / grandparents. It certainly has been a difficult year for the two of you. Diane and Glen (Ottawa)

It was so sad to read of Barbara's death. I met Barbara when I was a member of the Ladies Day Out at the Y. She and I played badminton in that program. I remember her subtle comments as various topics were discussed in our afternoon programs and her voracious reading habit which was most obvious during our book club reviews. My heartfelt condolences go to John and Chloe, whom I never met but felt I knew through Barbara's constant update of their lives over these many years.

John and Chloe, you are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. I was a neighbour from Nottinghill Road, who in the last 6 years, used to walk regularly with your Dad and Somerset. Prior to that I worked in Westmount Mall with your Mom and knew what a wonderfully full-of-fun lady she was. My sincere sympathies to you.
