Extending our heart felt sympathies to the Knowles family in the lost of their father. I had the pleasure of working with London Wines for several years doing their runs into Thunder Bay on a weekly basis. I also got to know the staffs in their Timmins and Sault stores and they all felt like they belonged to a big family. It is a time in my life that was filled with pleasant memories thanks to Mr. Knowles allowing me to work with them. May God in all his loving mercies give each and everyone of you strength and comfort at this time. Death may take a body away from us but memories last forever. God bless.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Knowles' passing. A friend enclosed his death notice in a Christmas card, and I am truly saddened. I remember him very fondly from my teens and twenties. He was so distinctive .. from his green ink, to his long Lincolns, to his dogs and birds. He was always kind and gracious and funny to this teeny bopper that seemed to spend so much time at his house. I never heard him raise his voice, but you sure never dared to make Mr. Knowles angry. For me, he set the bar of behaviour for how to treat my own sons' friends, because as much as I adored him, I truly respected him. I've thought of him often over the years, and probably always will, he was one of my favourite people. With great sympathy Sue (Gilbert) Hincenbergs

Dorothy & I extend our condolences to Pete's family I had the opportunity to live and grow up in Rondeau Park. During the early years, my family became friends with most of the cottagers in the Park, not the least of which was the Knowles family. I have many fond memories of the Rondeau Yacht Club and the sailors, such as Pete, who contributed so much to its success. Pete was a fixture in Rondeau. From time to time our paths would cross, most often during the duck hunting, fishing or sailing seasons. I am proud to have known Pete and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. To my lifelong family friends of Neville,Peter, Jim and Lisa, I am very sorry for your/our loss. I feel honoured and a pleasure growing up with your family having known your father for close to 45 years. Over those years,we shared many memorable experiences.Pete was a very kind and generous man who often overlooked our not so perfect moments. His favorite saying was "he's just going through a phase" which was enough to defuse the situation. I also recall fond memories of his reaction at the farm when we would get the ATV stuck in the mud, where we weren't supposed to be, or a mast of an overturned sailboat stuck in the bottom of Rondeau Bay. Your dad and I shared the same birthday ( July 31st) and he always promised me that we would go to Detroit together to celebrate when I became old enough. Unfortunately that never happened, so I raise my glass and cheers to you "Pete" may you rest in peace.
