We are very sad to hear of Art's passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mona, Karen , Doug and family. Art was a father figure and mentor to me. I appreciated his advise and direction when I was a young father and husband. He coached me through our first house purchase and gave me and my wife Philippa many words of wisdom and encouragement to help raise our three young daughters. We loved his sense of humour and and colourful stories. His hospitality was always gladly excepted although sometimes with strings attached we (Doug and I),when we were young, would have to shovel his driveway, cut the the lawn or clean up our mess in the basement, before we could have that pop or snack. We enjoyed many days and nights in each others company out in the "Sun room". Art was always interested in our plans and future endeavors and keen to offer advise. His life well lived, his service to our country and his faith in God have been very inspiring to me since our first meeting some 47 yrs ago. I will cherish and honour his memory always. God bless.

Our deepest condolences to you, Karen and Doug, your families and the Parker Family, on the passing of your wonderful Dad. I have the fondest memories of your father. His irrepressible sense of humour, smile & and infectious laughter, his kindness, and his intelligence. My parents loved your Mom & Dad deeply and highly valued their friendship. My father had the greatest respect for your Dad's heroic service to Canada in WW2 and Korea, and spoke often of him. Truly, he was one of "the greatest generation". I am so grateful to have known him and so very sorry for your loss. He will be remembered and truly missed. With respect from the Mahar Family.
