Annemarie Gerti Wright (née Schiemann)

June 21, 2024

Annemarie Gerti Wright (née Schiemann), passed away on June 21, 2024. She was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1947, and pre-deceased by her parents Waltraut and Walter Schiemann. She emigrated when she was 11 with her younger brother Jerry. Loving mother to Brian, Ian (Roxanne), and Rob (Patricia). Proud Nana to Rhys, Rhiannon, Samantha, Chris, Jace, Xavier, Charli, and Aria.

Anne was passionate about many things in her life. The thing she was most proud and passionate about was her family and friends. She had many hobbies and interests that varied over the years. More so after she was done shuttling 3 boys to baseball games all over the city to beavers, cubs, and scouts, often as a leader guiding and inspiring young minds with her warmth and enthusiasm. She loved to garden. She was a talented baker, known for creating unique wedding and birthday cakes that delighted family and friends. Her charitable spirit was evident through her many years of dedicated volunteer work.

Anne was a firecracker, full of life and energy, always bringing a spark to every room she entered. Her love extended to crocheting baby blankets, lovingly crafting each one as a gift of warmth and comfort for so many of her extended families. In addition to her many talents, Anne had a deep passion for making homemade crafts and ceramics, showcasing her creativity and artistic flair. Her love for Christmas was evident in the way she transformed her home into a festive wonderland each year, bringing joy to all who visited.

A funeral service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Anne’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

So sorry to hear of Anne’s passing. We are great fun way back in the 70 & 80’s. We did Beavers together and lots of fund raising for Sir Isaac Brock School. She taught us so many things but I know her family meant the world to her. Take comfort in all your memories.

The news of your passing has truly saddened me. I believe it was 56 years ago we first met, when my brother John introduced you to our family. That was when you were nicknamed Anna to reduce confusion with our older sister Anne. Your outgoing and sometimes crazy personality fit right in, especially with our dad. There are so many happy memories, funny moments, such as the Wright Family Picnic, but my most favourite will always be the Tupperware Cupboard! You were a great mom to Brian, Ian and Rob. The joy of being a grandmother made your heart burst with pride, love and caring. Your job here on earth is now over so rest peacefully knowing you have left a wonderful legacy for your 3 sons to follow. Be sure to take those wings for a test drive as you fly with your fellow Angels. PS: Watch out for sister Anne, she was a terrible driver! Love you, Judy
