Anne Maria Salters (née Pronk)

On Monday, January 1, 2024, Mrs. Anne Maria Salters (née Pronk), of London, Ontario, peacefully passed away at the age of 97, surrounded by members of her loving family. Anne’s indelible spirit, irrepressible sense of humor, and undying devotion to her cherished husband, Hans, and family will be remembered forever.

Born a Dutch country girl in Medemblik Netherlands, Anne’s journey led her to Canada in 1954, where she built a life filled with love, resilience, and a strong sense of family. Her remarkable life is a testament to her strength and courage, having survived the challenges of the German occupation during World War II.

Anne, one of thirteen children, was predeceased by her loving husband, Hans Salters, twelve siblings, and her parents. She is survived by her seven children, Ann (Tom), Tony (Stacey), Spencer (Anne), Paul (Linda), Yvonne (Paul), Bernie, and Monica. Anne leaves behind 15 wonderful grandchildren: Jessica, Tyler, Sarah, Kate, Leigh, Alicia, Sydney, Danielle, Aaron, Nicole, Rochelle, Jacob, Samuel, Jasmine, and Kai, and six great-grandchildren; Odin, Skyla, Aaliyah, Vaida, Zack, Mirakel  and Murphy.

In addition to her immediate family, Anne is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in Netherlands and Germany, a testament to the wide-reaching impact of her love and connection.

Anne Maria Salters’s legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception afterwards. There will be a private interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
