I met this wonderful, strong, fiercely independent and cheerful lady only once in my lifetime. Her daughter, my friend of over 30 years, Kate Hyland, took me to meet her when my husband and I visited Canada for the very first time in October 2019. It was only months before the COVID pandemic madness started. Sleep well Mrs Gough. I’ll remember you with fond affection.

Your mom, Kate was such a gracious, wonderful person and when she served almost every Sunday, pre co-vid time, at St. George, she did it so reverently. I am sure she is missed by all who loved her. She is now in heaven looking down and smiling at all of you. Joan Ives

My sympathy to Ann’s family as you mourn your dear Mother’s death. I remember Ann so well from my time at St. George parish. During that time Bob took part in the RCIA process. Ann accompanied Bob as he faithfully attended the weekly meetings. I also remember the beautiful hats and mitts Ann would knit for the less fortunate. Even after I left St. George, Ann and Bob would drive to Chatham with a huge box of knitted good for me to give to the poor. We also had such a great visit. What a beautiful couple now united in the Communion of Saints.

I met dear Ann on an outing to Lakeside in which she was so happy and appreciative to have gone on a new adventure. She enjoyed her day immensely. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her and seeing that lovely smile can consider themselves very fortunate. May the good family memories help your family through this difficult time.

Ann was an amazing and faithful person filled with light and joy. She was one of the world’s oldest altar servers as she faithfully helped us weekly at the Sunday 7:30 am Mass. She will be dearly missed but rejoicing in heaven!!
