Andrew ‘Drew’ Dingwall Gallacher
June 8, 1947 - October 10, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrew “Drew” Gallacher, who left us on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. Born on June 8, 1947 in Glasgow, Scotland, he has called Canada home for over 50 years. Dear husband of Ailsa for 55 years. Cherished father of Gerald (Nadine) and Jamie (Carol). His greatest joy was his grandchildren Sarah, Aidan, Jaimeson and Noah, who affectionately referred to him simply as “Granda”. Beloved brother to Cathrine, Margaret and George. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews in the UK and Canada, including the Gallacher’s, Sinclair’s, Young’s, Clarke’s and Laurie’s. Drew touched the lives of many with his kindness, wisdom, and eagerness to help others when they needed it. Drew will be remembered for being a friend and sponsor to many throughout his life in London, Ontario and surrounding area. After spending years making cars run a wee bit better, he shifted his passion to woodworking; his wood trays becoming legend in our family circle. Drew was always quick to light up a room with a good laugh or a well-timed hug when you needed it most. Seemingly always wearing his favorite bunnet, and although small in stature, he was as tough as they come; if you measured a man from the shoulders up – he was a giant. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. All friends and family are welcome to attend. We are grateful for the time we had with Andrew and will carry his memory in our hearts forever. Ailsa and family, I am saddened to read of Drews passing. Our parents on silversmith could not of asked for better neighbors! Drew was always eager to chat in the driveway, lend a helping hand and take dad for Wednesday fish & chips. Drew set the standard for lawncare on silversmith that could not be matched and was always the first one out with the snowblower to clear the driveways! sorry for your loss.

The memories will always make me smile, what a great wit, full of stories (some of which I still don't believe! Lol) You are gone but will always be remembered with lots of love for the fun, laughter and Glasgow cheek!
