Allen (Bud) Charles Rastin

July 2, 2013

As the sun started to set on July 2, 2013 the angels came with our son Thomas to take Allen (Bud) on a wonderful trip home to the heavens above to be with the Almighty Father.  Allen was a member of Knights of Columbus 3rd degree St. Pius X Council 10561 and J.P. McNamara Assembly 4th degree.  Born on September 16, 1923 in London, Ontario to the late Thomas and Minnie (Ford) in his 90th year.  Predeceased by his oldest son Thomas, his brother Bill and sister Pearl Donohue.  Loving husband of Deborah (Glaab), dear father of Richard A. of Toronto, Deborah-Lee (Michael Sheppard) of Mount Forest, Marilee Kosik (Walter) of Alberta. Poppa of Meagan Rastin of London, Melinda, Melissa and Brooke Boomer of Mount Forest, Lauren and Erica Erb of Cambridge, and great grandfather to Orion Aiden Allen Romanoff and Alexandre Troy Rastin-Lirette of London.  Allen is dear brother of Edythe Butler (Albert) of London, brother-in-law to Edwin Glaab, Richard Glaab (Mary) of Woodstock and many nieces, nephews and cousins in the London, Mount Brydges and Alberta area. He will be missed by family including good friends in Cambridge and Woodstock area where he had lived and was a Knight of Columbus.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 511 Cheapside Street, London, on Saturday, July 13th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, AIDS Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.  My dear Allen may you find peace and happiness and a motorcycle where you are.  Don’t forget to give our son Thomas a kiss from mom.

Sorry I have only learned of my father's death today. So sad the wasted years we could have had. RIP dad. At least I got to meet you once.

My condolences Deborah in the loss of your husband. It has been many years since we worked together in Woodstock. I seen the obituary in our local newspaper and wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers. You wrote such a beautiful obituary. Take care . Lydia

Deborah, I'm so sorry to hear of Bud's passing. I remember what a character he was when you both brought Meagan for her riding lessons. Hope you are well, Terry
