Albert Louis “Al” Sikkema
April 26, 2024
Al passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024, at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with lung cancer. Al was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he met his wife, Krystyna (“Krys”), and a short 3 months later they were married. Al and Krys moved together from Michigan to Canada, and they spent most of their married life in London, Ontario having three beautiful children, Jeremy, Jonathan, and Deborah. They recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Al worked for many years as an Insurance Investigator and Co-Founder of NUI Verification Services Inc. with his son Jeremy. Al had a strong work ethic and enjoyed providing for his family over the years. Al had a lot of different hobbies and was extremely athletic. He enjoyed tennis, badminton, jogging, swimming, cars, relaxing in the sunshine, California red wine, and walking his dog, Rocky. He had a deep faith in God and was very spiritual. Al is survived by his wife Krys, son, Jeremy (Jennifer), son Jonathan (Sara), daughter Deborah, grandson Jackson, granddaughter Sydney, granddaughter Sonny, grandson Liam, grandson Bodhi, granddaughter Indiana, his sister Mary, and brother Jim (Pam). Al will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. So sorry for your loss
My sincere condolences to you Kris and your family.
Such great memories working with Al at Sentinel Underwriting. It was Al that told me I should be an organizer for a living and down the road I became one (at the time I didn't know that this was a thing) Lots of good times working with Al and I will never forget his IROC. Krys and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. May he now be at peace and in the comfort of our Lords arms.
The quality of a life is judged not by its length but by the depth of loving memory left behind. I've only known and worked with Deborah a relatively short time and yet I know how deeply she loved, and was loved in return by, her dad, Al. His life was clearly of the highest quality. My condolences to your entire family during this time of great loss.

Dear Krys, Just want to offer our deepest condolences, I was shocked when I stumbled across Al’s obituary while looking for someone else’s.
