Annamma “Ann” Thomas

April 9, 2025

It is with great sadness that we share that Annamma “Ann” Thomas of London, Ontario has passed away on April 9, 2025 after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of John, mother of Roy and Reena, and dear sister of Thankamma (Chettan), Lilykutty (the late Appachan), Kunjumol, the late Raju (Kochumol), and Jessy (the late Pappachan). She will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews and many long-time friends. Annamma was born in Kerala, India, attended nursing school in Miraj, and immigrated to Canada in 1966. She worked as a nurse at University Hospital from its opening in 1972 until her retirement in 2008, mostly in the Coronary Care Unit among life-long friends and colleagues. She was also fortunate to have a supportive network of close nursing school friends from India who had settled in London, Stratford, Windsor, and Toronto. A long-time member of St. Martin-in-the-Fields Anglican Church, Annamma enjoyed volunteer activities, including the Altar Guild. Until we meet again.

The funeral service will be held at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Anglican Church, 489 Pinetree Drive, London on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, with visitation at 10:00 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m. and a reception to follow. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, 439 Springbank Drive, London.

Dearest Aunty, we will miss you immensely. I know that you are not suffering anymore and for that we are grateful. Your infectious laugh and baking bring back fond memories. I still have the dress you made for me as a baby and put it on Janani when she was a baby. I still have the sweater you lovingly made for me. These are the things I kept and will continue to keep as a reminder of the bond that we have shared my entire life. I will miss you dearly. Hug Mom for me. Be at peace💕
