Caroline Mary Humphrey

February 14, 2025

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Caroline Mary Humphrey, in her 103rd year, on the evening of Friday, February 14, 2025. She was born on December 25, 1922 in Cleveland, and was the daughter of John and Gina D’Anna-Lonero. Caroline married Maxwell Humphrey on October 11, 1947. He preceded her in death on October 5, 2010.

Caroline resided in Belleville, Ohio until 1938, at which time the family moved to Cleveland following her 8th grade graduation from Immaculate Conception Catholic School.

In addition to being a homemaker, Mom also owned and ran with her twin sister, Theresa, the Twins Beauty Salon. Creatively inclined, Caroline was a painter and taught classes from her home, and was skilled at creating floral arrangements with moulds and wires. She would go on to teach this art as well.

Mom is survived by her daughter, Terri-Jean and Bill Morrow; son, John and Nadine Humphrey; grandchildren: Gina and Gord Hurst, Robbie Miller, Abra and Gord Paul, and Torin Humphrey; and great-grandchildren: Amelia, Ella, Kieran, and Carson.

Preceded in death by her twin sister, Theresa (1995), another sister in infancy, and her eldest son, Robert Charles Humphrey (2024).

Thank you to the doctors, nurses and the PSW’s who made Mom’s journey as comfortable as possible. In lieu of a service, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

“May Mary be the star which leads us and shows us the sure road to the Heavenly Father” – words of Padre Pio.

I send my sincere condolences during this time of sorrow. The Bible promises that your loved one will come back to life on a beautiful paradise earth when death will be no more in John 5:28, 29.
