Dear Charlotte, I heard from Paul Cooper today that Bob had died and wish to offer you my deepest sympathies on your loss. Bob was a wonderful mentor to me when I was a resident at Western, and at St. Joe's, then a wonderfully supportive colleague during the years I worked there. St. Joe's, and Bob in particular, hold a special place in my heart. I saw him once or twice when I returned to London shortly after we moved to Vancouver, but alas, lost touch over the years. Bob was one of those people who gave you his friendship and support without reservation, and asking nothing in return. He played a significant part in the type of physician I became - caring, considerate, knowledgeable and patient. I'll never forget my embarrassment in my internship year when Bob, my attending, asked me on rounds one day what is now a fairly simple question and I couldn't answer it. That never happened again!! My sympathies to you and your family. And my thanks to Bob for being such a wonderful role model.

Charlotte I am so grateful to have met you & Bob, on several occasions when you were visiting family in Burlington. You were a charming couple, dedicated to each other and family. I particularly enjoyed my long conversations with Bob. During this time of loss, my thoughts and prayers go out to you, Leslie, Michael, Melanie and Eliyah.

I have such love and admiration for this man: he was generous with his love, time and resources, unfailingly compassionate, curious, caring, a skilled healer and he had a dry wit that was so intelligent and entertaining. He was a renaissance man who enjoyed the arts, travel, and good conversation. His was a great example to conduct a good life. Uncle Bob's time on this planet positively impacted so many people, and he surely will be missed. Rest in peace, Uncle Bob. Always my FUB (Favourite Uncle Bob). ❤️

I have nothing but the happiest of memories of the times I spent with Uncle Bob. He was a real Mensch in the truest sense of the word. My heartfelt condolences go out to Aunt Charlotte, Lesley, Michael, Melanie & Eliyah. May his memory bring you comfort.
