Barbara Ann Crossen, (Beaudin, née Kavanaugh)
December 6, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Barbara Ann Crossen, at the age of 74. Barbara departed this world on Friday, December 6, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to her family and friends.
Born on Jan 15, 1950, Barb embraced life with a zest and independence that inspired everyone around her. With a lifelong passion for staying active, she devoted her later years to becoming a fitness instructor, running classes throughout the city of London. However, Barbara firmly believed that laughter was the best exercise, and her quick wit and infectious sense of humor brightened the lives of all who knew her.
There was always a soundtrack to her life, as Barbara passionately loved music and great singers and genuinely admired musicians of every kind.
Barbara will be reunited in death with her mother, Blanche, and sister, Beverly, both of whom she loved dearly. She will also join her first husband, Raymond Beaudin.
Barbara is survived by her loving sons, Kristian and his wife Joulia, Ray and his wife Jennifer, and Mat, as well as her adopted daughter (but not officially) Caroline, her fiancé Paul, and her former husband Thomas Crossen—all who carry her spirit of determination and joy in their hearts.
She also leaves behind her cherished siblings: one brother, Wayne Kavanaugh and his wife Marion, and two sisters, Linda Brown and husband Dave and Judy, whose husband Jack Jaques, Barbara had a very special relationship with and is joining now in her passing, with him and Judy’s daughter Donna. Her brother and sisters will forever hold dear the countless memories they created together. From their humble beginnings on the farm with their mother and grandfather to the intertwined lives they led, raising their own families, always staying close, and lifting each other up along the way.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kayla, Ashley, Kaitlyn, Joanna, Mia, Beaudin, and Harrison, who all had a very special and individual bond with their grandmother.
Barbara’s vibrant life will be celebrated on her 75th birthday, January 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Elsie Perrin William Estate in London. Friends and family are invited to share their favorite stories, laughter, and love in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to their chosen charity.
As we say goodbye to our beloved mother, sister, and friend, we find comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Barbara taught us that life is to be lived fully, with joy and laughter, and always with music in the background. She will forever be missed but never forgotten.

We had the pleasure of meeting Barb at Beaudin's dance performances, and it quickly became clear what a loving and devoted grandmother she was. Ray, Jen, Beaudin, and Harrison, please receive our heartfelt condolences on the loss of such a special person. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time
My deepest sympathy to the family. Barb I can’t believe you are gone. I admired you so much. Will miss the surprise visits in Leamington and having such good conversation, even though way too short. I will always remember your joy, kindness and caring for others. You have earned your wings and are now with Ray. Love you Barb
I met Barb at the London fitness program and enjoyed her vitality and love of music for many months. We enjoyed Joe Bonamassa at the JLC as it was known a few years ago after a few glasses of wine at Waldo's. Barb introduced me to pickleball which was in its early stages here in London and we enjoyed many games together. We kept in touch over the last couple of years as she spent time between London and Windsor. She was a lovely person. My condolences to her family. So sad.
I'm so glad you and I got together for a long lunch just weeks before your passing. I will cherish that day in my heart forever. Not to mention the countless morning breakfasts and dinners whenever you would be in the area. The coffee gang loved to hear about your adventures and we are all shocked and saddened by your untimely passing. RIP Barb you will be in our hearts forever. Gina, Rick, Sue and Gerry.
I am very saddened to hear of Barbs passing. She was a close friend of my neighbour Edith Mudge and was there frequently. Occasionally we would sit on the porch as we chatted and drank our coffees or wine. They had a very close friendship. Barb was always cheery, and we would always have a good laugh as we shared stories. Again she is with Edith, I hope they continue to laugh together. Rest in peace Barb.
Those we love don't go away they walk beside us, every day Unseen, unheard, but always near Still loved, still missed and very dear. We will hold onto the memories of so many good times spent together over the years and will never forget our friendship.
Mat, I’m very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. There are no words that can alleviate the grief. My sincere condolences.
