Bruce Charles MacKinnon

Passed away peacefully at University Hospital, London, on October 27, 2024, after a long-term struggle with CKD, in his 82^nd year. Beloved husband of Estelle Elizabeth MacKinnon and loving son of the late Ross Pritchard MacKinnon and Gwendolyn Mae MacKinnon (née Lightbound).  Predeceased by daughter Jennifer May MacKinnon. Dear brother of Ross Paul MacKinnon (wife Sue Pipher), and uncle to Ross Ryan MacKinnon, Heather MacKinnon and Shannon Black (née MacKinnon). Sadly, missed by nephews: Ray Currie, Ryan Currie, Peter Northcott, (and Mother Jennifer Northcott); and by brother-in-law Jim Currie. Bruce will also be missed by the MacKinnon and Lightbound families of Toronto and the MacKinnon families in the USA:  Florida (Tom and Nancy Henry); and Colorado (Pat and Bob Mason).

A graduate of UNB and York U, Bruce excelled in sports and played football at Richview Collegiate and the University of New Brunswick. With a lifelong love of sports, Bruce played hockey, football, and basketball at university, and golf for as long as he was able.   A graduate of political science, he was a passionate follower of politics in both Canada and the US, where he was concerned at the loss of personal freedoms and the direction both countries were heading.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior.
