Danny Michael Danyluk

October 30, 2024

Our much-loved Dan passed away in London, Ontario on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Dan was the husband of Jann, with whom he spent 42 amazing and magical years. Dan was the proud father of Kayelle who he adored beyond measure, alongside son-in-law Oliver, who truly became part of the family. He was predeceased by parents Doris Marguerite and Michael Danyluk; and his beloved animals Butchie, Aretha and Flower.

Dan lived his life to the fullest and filled every day with positivity. He was passionate about his work and making a difference in others’ lives. He was a leader at Junior Achievement in Windsor, Toronto, and London where he built many life-long friendships. Dan co-owned Crawford & Danyluk Insurance Brokers with close friends Patty Crawford and Gary Goyeau; through their partnership and working alongside the C&D team, the business has gone from strength to strength. Dan spent several years volunteering for the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario before becoming the CEO of the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada.

Naturally curious, he and Jann travelled the world. Dan always took on new experiences with an open mind and good humour.

The family would like to thank Dr. Hamid Mithoowani and team for the incredible support from the Verspeeten Cancer Centre. The Parkwood Palliative Care Unit is staffed by angels. Anyone reading this will be aware of the toll cancer takes and its unfairness. Our hearts go out to you and yours if you have or are experiencing this dreadful disease.

For those who would like to join us in a celebration of Dan’s life, a reception will be held at the Riverbend Golf Community Clubhouse, 1200 Sandy Somerville Drive, London from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024.

Danny &I grew up going on vacations, with my Mom & Dad. Went to Florida a number of times, the Carolinas, with his parents and mine. Had many great times together. It was because of him, I got involved in Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan. I was on staff for 10 years. Would talk to him about the programs. Danny was like my big brother. Always had fun, going to movies, Duck pin bowling, the time he bought me "my own set of uniblocks". I will always cherish those memories.

Firstly, I am so sorry to hear about Danny's passing. I send my sincere condolences to his family. Danny and I were best friends during our public and high school years. He lived on Francios Crt. while I lived on Arthur Rd across from Ada C. Richards school. I used to cut his parent's lawn, as a part time job. While attending Herman high school, we both got involved with Junior Achievement. Danny more so than I. We usually walked home together from school and we would check to see what my Mum was baking. Danny was especially fond of her Cream puffs. We hung out together and enjoyed each other's company. Danny's parents both worked, so we usually went to his house. I am sorry that we never connected again after we left high school. I went right to work as an Electrical apprentice, Electrician and finished 31 years with General Motors as a Controls Engineer. It looks like Danny took a different path into the business world. I hope he had a happy and full life. I hope that his family realizes that he was a kind and great friend. I am sure that he will be missed by all who knew Him.

~ Bob Patrick, Windsor

I was so sorry to read about Dan's passing. I had the pleasure of meeting him in the late 1990's at the tanning salon I worked at and he was an absolute pleasure to speak to and a join to be around. You were not kidding when you said he spread positivity. He was always so soft spoken and loved the insurance industry and all the customers he could help. I now work in the industry and I think of him often when conducting my own insurance business. He was a true legend in an industry where customer service is paramount when helping people through some of the worst days of their lives. Blessings and condolences to Dan's family. He will be missed by everyone to whom he interacted with.

Danny was in our wedding party 54 years ago and he has remained the same lovable guy that he was as a teenager. A positive, fun and kind gentleman. A much-loved friend indeed.

It is hard to express what Dan Danyluk meant to me as a 14-year-old. I was a really shy, naive kid attending Junior Achievement in Windsor, and of all people, Dan chose me to go to a Junior Achievement conference in Indiana. I was the ONLY Canadian. I had never been on a plane. And while there, I had to meet a ton of people, speak on stage, do TV interviews. And that really helped me develop some confidence. I never hesitated to thank Dan. He saw something in me that I didn't see in myself. I'll never forget his goodness. But I also remember having lunch with Dan one afternoon. It may have been to discuss my trip to Indiana. His place on Laurendeau had floors that were slanted, making eating a bowl of soup a bit of an adventure. In one room, Dan had hundreds(?) of 'Love Lamps,' a product that one Junior Achievement company would sell every year for decades, it seemed. He was caring and funny and without pretense, the same way he was through his life. I last saw Dan three years ago at Cam Gardiner's funeral -- two people who loom large in my life -- and Dan and I were in touch a few times afterwards. He was very important to me as a teenager at Junior Achievement, and as I promised Jann, I will forever keep Dan in my heart. . kevin shea

I never met Dan, my dad's Tim's cousin. But, I heard many stories of their travel's and trips in their younger years. My dad was proud of Dan and shared his accomplishments with me through the years. I did spend many Christmas's with his parents in Florida as a child, and those visits were always fun.
