Shirley Elizabeth Boutcher

October 16, 2024

John 14:1-3 “Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

After a lengthy battle, Shirley Elizabeth Boutcher of Kettle Point, went on to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Strathroy Middlesex Hospital in her 85th year.

Survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in-laws, nephews and nieces. Predeceased by son, David Wayne Boutcher; parents, William ‘Bill’ Stephenson and Pearl (née Cornish) Stephenson.

We would like to thank the staff and doctors of Strathroy Hospital, as well as Wiidsemshin Assisted Living of Kettle Point staff, for their excellent care and friendships made there. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the sympathy, comforting words, prayers and all expressions of kindness and concern. May God continue to bless you.

My stepmom was a firm believer and follower of the Lord. She always had a cheerful smile for everyone! You see, she had a relationship that carried some wonderful promises. It is difficult to be always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord—for we walk by faith, not by sight—we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:6–8) For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me; and I don't know which to choose. But I am hard-pressed from both directions, with the desire to depart and be with Christ, which would be much better; yet to remain on in the flesh is more necessary for our sake. (Philippians 1:21–24) And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, "Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit." Having said this, He breathed His last. (Luke 23:46) The same for Shirley, she said Jesus, "I'm coming home, with her arms stretched out" She passed peacefully and gracefully!
