Eunice Son Kee

October 13, 2024

Our dearest Eunice Son Kee (née Ford) was called to Heaven, peacefully with her family by her side, at LHSC – University Hospital, London, ON, on Sunday, October 13th, 2024, at the age of 68. Beloved wife of Gerald Son Kee for 44 years. Loving mother of Lynn Phillips (Wayne Phillips) and Brenda Enns (Franz Enns). Adored grandmother of Maya and Gabriel Enns. Sister to Enid Bue (Les), Eddie Ying (Mary Ann), Eric Ford Ying, Ellen Ho, and Esme Wing Son (Dan). Predeceased by her mother, Chok Toy, and father, Ying Ford.

Eunice was a very loving, kind, and compassionate person. She was also practical, organized, and an excellent office manager. Most of all, she had a strong faith in Jesus. She showed her love by cooking fantastic meals for her family, enjoyed playing golf and travelling with her husband. She lit up when receiving hugs from her grandchildren and always loved planning gatherings. She will be dearly missed by all. Heaven has gained another angel.

Visitation will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday, October 17th, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, London, on Friday October 18th, 2024, with arrival at 9:30 a.m. for 9:45 a.m. start. I worked at the Oaks Golf Club where Eunice was a member. I remember showing her and her family the facility and welcoming them as new members. I was always eager to serve them, hear stories about their travels, and meet their family members who came along for rounds of golf or evening meals. Eunice was always kind, compassionate, and witty. Her smile, laugh, and willingness to indulge me in conversation will stick with me. The Son Kee's will always remain as one of my favourite couples at the Oaks. My deepest condolences to Gerry and family.

I remember Eunice as a mom to Brenda, my friend and business partner. Although I have had the privelage of meeting Eunice many times over the years - at Brenda and Franz's wedding, at our clinic opening, at special birthdays, I want to share the way Eunice loved her family, her daughters, as seen from an outsider. Always, Eunice was so proud of Brenda. She believed in Brenda and and the things Brenda dedicated her time to. She was her cheerleader, her support, her friend. She cherished her grandchildren and often took care of them, giving Brenda and Franz special moments of alone time. She was active and instilled a love of golf, health and well being into her family. This perhaps led Brenda to her choice of career as a Physiotherapist, helping people to golf as well as walk after major injury. Eunice had strong faith and Brenda learned the same through her example. Brenda shared with me on so many occasions how lucky she felt to have the first family that she has. She was raised in a home of love and as a result developed the confidence to literally do anything - take risks, believe in herself, do the right thing, be conscientious, and to love and respect others. I personally am grateful for all that Eunice has given to her family, her daughters and grandchildren, and particularly for the impact that Eunice had, together wiht Gerry, on Brenda, in creating, developping and supporting such an incredible woman, whose role model will always be her mom, and whose mentor will always be her dad. Brenda, Franz, Maya, Gabe, Gerry, Lynn and Wayne, our deepest condolences on your loss of such an important person to each of you. With Love, Sari and Alon

I'm so sorry for your loss. Just terrible. I only met Eunice a few times at the golf club. But, I did really enjoy seeing her modest smile when I intentionally tried to emberrass Gerry in front of her. Thinking of you Gerry... keep your family close!
