Robert ‘Bruce’ Sackfield
August 19, 2024
Robert passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 19, 2024, at the age of eighty-three.
Beloved husband to Jackie for 63 years. Loving father to Rob (Cathy), Randy and Sue (Brian). Cherished grandfather to Calyssa Desiree (Shane), Selena, Mike (Laura) and Matt, and great-grandfather to Rae-Lynn. Loving brother to Heather. Predeceased by brother Don, and parents Margaret and Thomas.
Bruce started his career in Toronto as a plumber in his early twenty’s, eventually moving to London to start a milk truck company in Parkhill. He would pick up the milk from the neighbouring farms and deliver to the dairy and cheese factory. Later, those trucks turned into bulk tankers.
Bruce retired in his early forty’s where he would spend many of his days golfing. He always had a positive outlook on life, keeping active in sports, playing hockey, bowling, and golf. He enjoyed spending his free time coming to all the kid’s hockey and baseball games, as well as his grandchildren’s soccer, hockey, and baseball games.
Later in life, Bruce enjoyed his walks, placing Jackie’s painted rocks in the pathways for all to see. He also enjoyed his morning coffee at the mall with his fellow mall-walking friends.
There will be no funeral. Those wishing to donate in memory of Bruce are asked to consider the London Food Bank.

Deanna and I want to express our condolences to Jackie, Rob, Sue, Randy and the entire Sackfield family. I greatly admired Bruce during my high school years. He was always very kind and generous and had a great sense of humour. He would always say to Rob and I “what are you crows up to now?” with a smile …We never could get much past Bruce…..
