Margaret ‘Marg’ Elma Wray (née Holroyd)

At home surrounded by her children, Marg passed away peacefully in her 97th year, after a long life, well-lived and well-loved. She was born and raised in Stratford before moving to London to begin her nursing training at Victoria Hospital. A year after graduation, she married her beloved husband, Jack (deceased, 2005), they enjoyed 55 wonderful years together. They were blessed with three children: Peg Dawkins (Chris, deceased 2014), Sarnia; Doug (Kate, deceased 2023), Toronto; and Bob (Chris Dalton), St. Thomas. The family moved to Toronto in 1966 where they enjoyed a full life – church, friends, bridge, square dancing, and extensive travelling. Marg worked at Mississauga Hospital for 25 years, returning to London after retiring. They always had a welcoming home and loved to entertain. Everywhere she lived, she made new friends and embraced life to the fullest. Marg was a proud Nana to seven grandchildren: Brooke Murphy (Tony); Wes Dawkins (Ali); Joy Dawkins; Brian Wray; Carly Wray; Derek Wray; and Kelly Wray-Moody (Riley). She was also Nana to four beautiful great-grandchildren: Taylor and Zoe Murphy; James Dawkins; and Cozette Moody. Predeceased by her two brothers Jim and George Holroyd, and survived by two sisters-in-law, Marion MacLeod and Norma Holroyd. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. At her request, there will be no service.

My husband and I met your mother at foxhollow senior residence. We only met her four years ago ,however, we became good friends and always enjoyed her company. We had several Bridge games with Marg and another friend (Nancy) . We had a lot of fun together. We want to send the family our condolences at this sad time.
I always regarded Marg and Jack as knowledgeable, considerate and helpful members of the Stonehaven Court family which I was lucky to enjoy for several years. As the newcomer to London, it was an incredible place to live with unforgettable neighbours. My condolences to Marg’s family.
Rest in Peace Marg. You were the classiest lady I have ever met and I fondly remember your dinners for all the single people in Hazelden. God bless you.
To Peg, Doug and Bob Your Mom and I were very good friends for a long time. Actually your Mom and my late husband Glen Bain were next-door neighbours On Nelson St. in Stratford as children. Little did we know that later we would live across the street from each other on Bloomfield in London. From there your Mom and I became stoic bridge partners. We loved the game and laughed a lot. Such good memories for me. I will miss your Mom very much. And I am sending you my deepest sympathy at this sad time. Barbara

Special and fond memories of both Mr and Mrs Wray after Bob and I became great friends in High School. May they both rest in peace.
I was blessed to be Marg and Jack’s neighbour (and Maggie’s) for many years on Stonehaven Court. She was my other mother. I couldn’t have asked for kinder people to live beside. I’ll miss her. Rest Love o all of you Marylu
