It is with deeply saddened hearts, the family of Jimmy (Nimchan) Mahabir announces his passing on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at his residence, in his 49th year. Beloved son of Cynthia Kanhai and the late Vernon Mahabir; dear brother of Johnny (Vedish) Mahabir, Nigel Mahabir, Andy (Kelvin) Mahabir, Stephen Mahabir, JD Williams, Paul Swarath, James Tweedie, Suneeta Swarath, Suzanne Mahabir, Misty Young and Katie Gwizd. Cherished uncle of his nieces and nephews: Shannon Williams, Shane Williams, Joshua Swarath, Jeremiah Swarath, Joel Swarath, Nicole Mahabir, Sierra Mahabir, Nicolas Young, Victoria Young, Somai Mahabir, Savannah Mahabir, Autumn Mahabir, Logan Mahabir, Neo Mahabir, Lennox Mahabir, Halle Mahabir, Edwin Mahabir, and Justin Mahabir, and great uncle of Adrijan Uka.
Jimmy migrated to Canada in January 1993, and began his new life working at Vanier Children’s Service.
Jimmy will be greatly missed by his loving family, his aunts, uncles, and his many cousins from Trinidad, USA and Canada.
A funeral service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior.

I am truly saddened to hear of Jimmy’s passing. He was a part of Vanier for so long and very much a part of our family. I cared for him very much. Thinking of the Mahabir family during this difficult time. 🙏
