Dusan Glavas

Passed gently and peacefully at Parkwood Institute in London, on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the age of 81.  Husband of the late Stana Glavas.  He is survived by his sons, Sasa (Monika) and Boris; grandchildren Anna and Deyan, Stela and Vlado; sisters, Radmila Minic and Sofija Samoukovic; and nephew Srdjan (Danijela) Minic.  Dusan will be profoundly missed by his Kumovi, friends and family members (Glavas, Varagic, Babic, Jovovic, Samoukovic) in London, Ontario and beyond.

Dusan was born in former Yugoslavia, where he completed his studies and built a successful career within the civil engineering field, a career that has taken him to many cities within the country.

However, during the mid ’90’s, due to internal political conflicts, Dusan and his family were blessed to escape the war and travel to Slovenia as refugees, followed by immigrating to Canada shortly thereafter.

Throughout Dusan’s life, he remained modest, humble and always sincere.

He will be forever remembered as a bibliophile and for his humour, kindness and elegant handwriting. His passing will leave a large hole in all of our hearts, but his memory will live on in all who knew him and loved him.

A truly inspirational man to all.

Visitation will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Sunday, May 26, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Funeral Service will be conducted at St. Sava Serbia Orthodox Church, 5567 Wonderland Road South, London on Monday, May 27 at 9:00 a.m.  Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery, 493 Springbank Drive, London, at 11:00 a.m.
