Marilyn Gover

March 3, 2024

Suddenly at her residence in London, Ontario on Sunday, March 3, 2024, Marilyn Gover passed away in her 83rd year. Marilyn was the cherished mother of Don (Julie). Proud grandmother of Dillon, James, Michael, and Matthew. Dear sister of Gerald (Ginette) and Keith (Brenda). Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by her niece, nephews, extended family, and her many friends.

Marilyn lived her life in service of others, especially children. She was proud of her 5 years of service as a reservist in the R.C.A.F. with 438 (Aux.) Squadron in Montreal, QC. While working for Bell Canada, she volunteered with the Infant Hearing Assessment Program, testing the hearing of premature babies, and knitting countless outfits for them. After retiring from Bell Canada with 29 years of service and becoming a Life Member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, she spent many years as a volunteer with the Thames Valley District School Board, where her unconditional love and support will be remembered by many. Her time with the school board earned her an Award of Distinction in 2009.

Friends are welcome for visitation on Sunday, March 10th, 2024, at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. Cremation to follow. She will be laid to rest at a later date with her parents in Rawdon, QC. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Marilyn are asked to consider a donation to Make-A-Wish Canada, Southwestern Ontario.

I knew Marilyn through my mom, Joanne Smalley, who lived in the same building. I always called her "Pretty Lady" as she was such a classy and beautiful lady. The photo that the family chose is how I remember her, such a beautiful smile. To Marilyn's family: You are in my thoughts and prayers. 555 has lost another angel. ♥️

I extend my sincere condolences to Don and his family. Marilyn was my dear friend and neighbour living right across the hall from each other in our apartment building. I will remember Marilyn for her vibrant and fun going personality. She talked many times to me about her love for her son and grandsons. I will miss her so very much. Rest in peace Marilyn.
