David Gordon Thomas
February 5, 2024
Suddenly at home in London, Ontario, on February 5, 2024, in his 62nd year. Predeceased by his parents Gordon Arthur Thomas and Sheila Ann Thomas (née Glennon), Uncle Dennis Glennon and grandparents Michael and Jessie Glennon (née Prangley), James Thomas, Enid Freed (née Radford), and Bernt Freed. David is survived by his aunt Leona Glennon, cousins Maureen Glennon and Michael Glennon, and many other family members.
Dave had an extraordinary passion and enthusiasm for all aspects of the world of curling. Through his lifelong dedication to the sport, he acquired an immense collection of friends, curling pins, and statistical data. Dave was a wealth of curling knowledge for many and found joy in sharing his knowledge with others at curling clubs across Canada. He will be deeply missed by the curling community.
Dave was a devoted family member with a keen interest in the family genealogy and preserving and updating the records of the Field Family descendants. Dave was a thoughtful, kind, and generous man and a dedicated Boston Bruins fan. As a Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School graduate (class of 1981), Dave made an effort to remain connected with many of his classmates. His memory will forever be cherished by all whose lives he touched.

I was saddened and shocked to hear of Dave's passing. I knew Dave through curling and curling pin collecting. He had a wealth of curling pin knowledge and always willing to help out another collector, including me. Rest in peace Dave.
Sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I lost touch with Dave ever since my ball playing days. Dave and his dad Gord use to follow our ball team and went to all our games. We nicknamed Dave 'STATS' as he kept statistics of all our games. Dave was a delightful person. RIP STATS!
I am so saddened to hear this news. David was always good at reaching out to schoolmates from Banting. He always saw the best in everyone and was such an easy person to talk to. My heart goes out to his family.
So so sorry to hear this news; Dave was a friend to everyone and worked hard to help people stay connected; he would always call me personally for any of the Banting reunions and that was how we would stay connected - my deepest condolences to the family.

Dave was an inspiration for us as we began collecting Curling pins. His wealth of knowledge and experience with Curling history was amazing. As we developed the House of Curling Pins reference web site, Dave was an invaluable resource and critical development partner. He will be deeply missed.
