Sherri Norine Eddy (née Pruder)
August 8, 1956 - January 24, 2024
It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Sherri Norine Eddy (née Pruder), aged 67, at her home in London, on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Goderich, Ontario on August 8th, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Marilyn (née McCabe) Pruder. Sherri moved to London where she met her loving husband of 47 years, Brian. Sherri’s greatest pride was her two beautiful daughters, Allison (Derek) Decleir and Ashley Eddy. A cherished Nannie to Alexis and Carter, who will miss her dearly. Loved by brother Richard (Beckie) Pruder and sister-in-law Marilyn Ann McAdam. Loving aunt to Jennifer (Stu) Bell and Lauren (David) Sommerville, Melissa (Jay) McAdam and Jamie McAdam. Cherished great-aunt to Charlotte. Predeceased by her father and mother-in-law, Ronald and Marilyn Eddy.
She will be sorely missed by best friends of 50 years Anne and Dave Holmes, and cherished friend and neighbour of 35 years, Tracy Pierson.
Sherri had an accomplished 37-year career working in the accounting department at Carquest Canada. Before officially retiring, Sherri worked at the Office of the Registrar at Fanshawe College.
Sherri enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher, who took pride in her beautiful garden beds. Her proudest joy was spending time with her two grandchildren. You could always catch her watching her favourite Toronto sport teams, and enjoyed being a 30+ year London Knights season ticket holder. She enjoyed many trips up north with family and friends over the years, as well as travelling out east to Nova Scotia to spend time with family.
At this time, the family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at LHSC – London Regional Cancer Program, who worked tirelessly to provide wonderful care to Sherri throughout her battle with cancer.
A memorial celebration will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, between 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
Let us remember Sherri not with sadness, but with gratitude for the love she shared, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.
Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Sherri are asked to consider the London Regional Cancer Program.
