It is with shattered hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher Thomas Van Lierop, 32, on December 24, 2023.  Chris passed surrounded by his loving family and friends. Cherished son of John and Cindy (Aldrich) Van Lierop and very special brother to Nicole and Shauna. Grandson to Greta Aldrich. Nephew to Joannie and Ric Cramer, Bart and Michele Aldrich, Jeff and Penny Van Lierop, David and Katherine Thody. Cousin to Brooke (Liam), Nathan (Andie), Kristin (Josh), Erin (Dave), Josh, Adam (Alicia), Noah, Dana (Randy), and all their children. Predeceased by his Grandpa (Garnet Aldrich), Oma & Opa (Joanne and Jeff Van Lierop), Aunt Sylvia & Uncle David Dixon. Chris will be missed greatly by his very special group of friends. A special thank you to the CCTC Team at LHSC for their kindness and compassion, specifically Barbie, Amelia, Sunyoung, Alyssa, Glen and Dr. Kao.

Chris was born and raised in London and was a graduate of Byron Northview, Saunders SS, Fanshawe College (Marketing), and Algonquin College (Sports Business Management). Chris pursued his passion for sports through his schooling and into his work. He spent time working for Gameday Entertainment (Ottawa Redblacks) and the Toronto Blue Jays before moving back to London where he joined the team at Equals Brewing. Chris was an avid supporter and longtime season ticket holder for the London Knights and London Majors. He was known for his sports knowledge and his love of the Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Raptors. There was never a sporting question that Chris could not answer. Chris was known for his shopping sprees and his love of photography.

A celebration of life will be held from 1-4 pm on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Chris are asked to consider SickKids Foundation (Toronto) or a charity of your choice.
