Joseph Edgar “Ed” Baggaley

December 16, 2023

It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Joseph Edgar Baggaley, “Ed”, surrounded by family, on Saturday, December 16, 2023 in his 81st year.  Beloved husband of Susan, for 58 years. Cherished father of Amanda (Thomas) and Jeffrey (Jennifer). Loving Papa of Annie, Joe, Alexander, Matthew (Bryn) and Sarah. Dear great-grandfather to Joseph.

Above all else, Ed loved his family. His other passion in life was his work. From sweeping the floors and mixing paint to owning his own successful business, he became a local icon in the London paint industry. He was a man of his word and it wasn’t uncommon for him to do business with a handshake. Ed was proud of his Peruvian heritage and loved to travel the world. If you dropped by to say hello, he was probably cutting the grass. With his quiet wisdom, he became a trusted advisor, a mentor, a leader and an inspiration to so many people.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior.

Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Ed are asked to consider Diabetes Canada or Mission Services of London.

Susan, & family - We are so, so saddened to just hear of Eds passing. He was such a great friend & business man, and so well respected by Anthony and his team. A man with such a kind heart & caring soul & who’s 20+ years of friendships will now be reunited again with both Mario & Bob. Our hearts go out to you all, at such a difficult time. Love… Anthony, Helen & Ashley DAMBROSI xoxo

Uncle Eddie will be remembered in our hearts as an upstanding family man. With the most engaging smile and endearing personality; he will most fondly be remembered in our hearts.💕

Ed was a wonderful neighbour and we spoke many times as he was out cutting his grass or blowing the leaves. He always kept his home with great pride and concern for the neighbourhood. He had a ready smile and an approachable personality. We spent time drinking wine on the patio or deck or in front to the fireplace in he and Susan's family room gabbing and joking. It won't be the same not seeing Ed out and about giving me a wave as I climbed into my car to start my day. Good neighbours are hard to come by and Ed was one of the best. RIP my friend.
