Maria & family Shocked today to hear of Stella’s passing . Remembering how much fun we had at swim meets - especially Toledo- she was responsible for initiating Sarah’s purse fascination! Amy & Kristyn’s swim friend -remembering those earl mornings at Thames - sometimes with the snow flakes !!! Joe even though younger was touched by Stella’s exuberance. Although they may have lost touch - the swimmers seemed to always know where each other was in their life journey. May God bless you & memories sooth you hearts . Team Bartoch

I had the pleasure of teaching next door to Stella and supporting her students as LST at CCC for a number of years. She was an amazing teacher, colleague, and friend! She brightened any room and put the fun in everything she did and made the most difficult situations a little easier. Her passion was always her family and her students. When Stella entered the room the vibe became brighter - and to use her words - that's the way she rolled! Stella brought it, full on everyday to her colleagues, students, families, and to all enveloped by her irrepressible love and light. Spending an unforgettable year together as administration team at Oxbow PS remains a cherished gift and my good fortune. No doubt, Stella now resides in the land of beautiful, dancing souls - revel in peace, my friend!

~ Liz Gonser

Stella was not only a colleague at Wilfrid Jury, but she taught my son Morgan, Grade 7 & 8. She was everything an amazing teacher should be - caring, high expectations, kind, thorough, dynamic, understanding, compassionate... the list could go on and on. My son did not have an easy time in elementary school and he was a challenge. Stella purposefully took him into her class both years, knowing that the consistency would be important to him and understanding, intuitively the power of relationships in teaching. We kept in touch over the years and whenever I saw her she asked how 'our boy was'. She was thrilled to learn about every milestone, because even when few people believed in him, she did. That was her super power. Last year he graduated with honours from University and the first person I sent the picture to was Stella. She made an indelible mark on his life, and I share this as I am certain that there are literally thousands of students who she made this type of impact on. I am sorry for the entire family. You will be in my thoughts every time Morgan does another amazing thing... because I will think of Stella at those times. Dawn Fyn

Myself and family were heartbroken to hear of the passing of Estella aka Mrs. Harrison. She taught us so much, be yourself, be strong and be weird but most importantly she showed all of us kids so much love. She was a huge part of our public school days and alot of us kids wouldn't be who we are today without her influence. Even when we would run into her into as adults she was always so excited to see us, chat with us and catch up. She always had a way of making us feel special and important. She once gave me a pair of high socks with the Portuguese flag on them (knowing I was a big soccer fan/player) If I was going to cheer for any team, it would be Portugal (and she made sure of that) I wore those socks every game under my shin pads until they literally fell apart which was maybe 5 years ago. They played many years of soccer with me and unfortunately I still havent been able to find a decent replacement. Our condolences to her family- She was on amazing person who will always be remembered and celebrated!

~ Jessica Ellyatt

Anyone that had the pleasure of meeting you will not forget you. You just had that way about you! What a vibrant and loving personality! Stella truly cared about everyone she knew and made us all laugh. I have so many memories with her. Here’s a couple. Your whistle song and dance while bringing in the kids after yard duty time always made me laugh. Also, bringing out hand warmers on cold days for the community yard duty helpers at Wilfrid Jury. I just spoke with the same woman who now helps out at my current school. She had a big smile on her face while saying it. Yes, you changed lives, just by being you. You will be missed by many. Rest in peace sweet friend. I’m glad you are out of pain now. ❤️

~ Tonya Donaldson

Stella led at Wilfrid Jury in a caring and compassionate way. She was always there for others to lend a listening ear. On numerous occasions I witnessed her bringing a special something to school to brighten the day of a colleague or student who was having a difficult time. You will certainly be missed by so many people, Stella. My hope is that your passion for life and love for others will be carried on by the many you have touched.

I had the privilege of working with Stella at CC Carrothers, and when I moved to Wilfrid Jury, she came over with me. Truly a gift! Her generosity of spirit, her never-give-up attitude, and her sparkle spread across classrooms, schools, meetings, get-togethers.... wherever Stella went, you automatically knew you had an ally, a friend, and someone who was there for students, no matter what. I will miss her smile, her laugh, her hugs and her yelling "MA!" at me whenever we would run into each other. She was one of a kind. To her family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. You were so fortunate to have her in your life, even if it was for far too short a time. She will truly be missed. Rest in peace, my friend.

I am so sad to learn of Stella’s passing. I didn’t have the pleasure of working closely with her but the limited time I did interact with Stella I was struck by her life energy, her unparalleled sense of humour and an infectious ‘can do’ attitude. The world of education has lost an amazing teacher. My thoughts are with her family.

Stella Harrison was a rock for her family and a treasured friend to her husband Shane. Although my encounters with her were limited, her kindness, generosity and humour left an impression. She was deeply devoted to her family, and it was clear they were the centre of her world. Colleagues and students remember Stella as a beacon of energy and warmth in the classroom, her laughter and vivacity unforgettable. She imparted wisdom that went beyond academics. To Stella's family, her absence is profoundly felt. Yet, her enduring spirit and the joy she brought to life remain as a guidepost for us all. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she's impacted. Rest in peace, Stella. Your influence remains as strong as ever.

This news comes to my family and I with great sadness. Mrs. Harrison was a teacher of mine at CC Carrothers, and a lot of my positive and cherished memories had her in them. As an adult now, I know the things she taught me far surpassed the classroom. She was fun, bright, and had the best laugh ever. She will be remembered through every one of her students. Through the lives she touched and minds she helped shape. Rest in peace Mrs. Harrison.

Stella, you were an important part of my first work family at CC Carrothers. You were a strong, fierce woman who taught me a lot about building relationships with students, organizing life, and did so with class and style.
